ok with 48 hours to go here is my realistic wish list, based on players that are available and th amount of money wenger can spend including wages.

DAVID JAMES - £3M - £60K A WEEK
BREDE HANGERLAND - £10M - £50K A WEEK
BLAISE MATUIDA - £6M - £50K A WEEK
CHAMUKAH - £7M - £60K A WEEK
PV4 - FREE - £100K A WEEK

THIS LOT WOULD COST A TOTAL OF £26M A LOT LESS THAN RECEIVED FOR GREEDY AND TOURE WITH LEFT OVER FOR WAGES

IT COVERS HE DEFICIENT AREAS IN THE TEAM IE GOALIE, DEFENCE, MIDFIELD AND FORWARD AND GIVES US OPTIONS

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I would only consider Matuidi and Hangeland as a realistic reinforcement to the squad.
James is not better than Almunia imo.
We don´t need a striker like Chamakh imo.
The PV4 deal was refused bei AW.

Is anyone worried that we really don't seem to have a nailed on signing lined up.
This time in January, Arshavin was pretty much in the bag (bar some last minute haggling on the price)
Getting really nervous now

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger planning last-minute striker raid
Arsene Wenger has made a final attempt to sign Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh.

And the Arsenal boss hasn't given up on re-signing Patrick Vieira from Inter Milan as he looks to clinch at least one last-minute deal.

Wenger has already had a £5m bid for Chamakh turned down but the Moroccan striker wants to join Arsenal and has just 12 months left on his deal.

Frenchman Wenger, renowned for making last ditch deals having signed Andriy Arshavin at the 11th hour in January, has gone back to Bordeaux with a fresh offer hoping they will sell.

Chamakh has made it clear that he won't sign a new deal so Arsenal are hoping Bordeaux sell now rather than lose him for nothing next summer.

Wenger wants a target man to improve his squad and give them a genuine title push this season.

Vieira, 33, is still on his radar but that deal will depend on Inter allowing the French hardman to leave.

Vieira is interested in returning to boost his World Cup chances after struggling to get regular games at Inter. St Etienne's Blaise Matuidi is another target but Arsenal don't want to pay £8m.

Arsenal need a centre-half but will only buy if Philippe Senderos leaves. Everton, Aston Villa, Fulham and Blackburn have all been interested in the Swiss stopper.

told you vieira will return :barscarf:

Anybody else wishing the transfer window would close at noon today ? We clearly aint going to sign anybody of note (if we sign anybody at all  ) and I am really worried that our rivals, the mancs in particular, will make a big splash before the window closes

Look at Bayern Munich.
Bad start to the season despite big investments.
They sign Robben from Real for 24m € on friday and he scores 2 goals for Bayern in his first match on saturday againt champions Wolfsburg.

AW, there are players on this planet who can make the difference!

Not holding out much hope for a last min deal, and even if the Chamakh signing did happen, it's not the one we really need most.
And I honestly think pv4 would have a de-stabilising effect on the squad and could undermine team spirit, which is probably the one real strength the squad seems to have.

After the meeting against Marseille, Bordeaux striker, Marouane Chamakh (Press Photo-Sports) is back on the latest rumors that indicated a possible new bid from Arsenal: "I don ' have not yet seen my representatives, but for now I think there is nothing new. Normally, I'm on track to stay. . I said that everything was possible until August 31, but I have not heard. I am so far from Bordeaux and Bordeaux well.

After the game, yesterday night:

"I'll probably stay at Bordeaux. Even if I said that everything could happen untill the 31th August. I didn't talk with my agents yet on phone. But there's nothing new at the moment. I'm set to stay."
And if Arsenal insists?
"I'm aware of nothing at all. I would be very surprised that Arsenal make another bid. I dont dream anymore, I'm focused on Bordeaux. I think it will be the same untill the end of the season."
If you stay, you'll sign a new contract?
"No, I don't think so. That's not my aim for the moment."

Everyone knows we need to buy to win premiership or CL we should have 40 million at least to spend on players and again nothing unless a miracle happens, would love to know where the money is going to go maybe to the ever increasing treasure chest or are the fat cats getting bigger .
