CHELSEA BANNED FROM SIGNING PLAYERS

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Without a doubt, that won't stand, or will just be cut down to a bigger fine.

I bet Wenger wishes that was Arsenal!!

It would save him a lot of stick from us

If only the Chelsea ban was to stick, they would be fooked come the ANC in January....they'd lose the likes of Essien, Drogba, Mikel etc. Bloody fantastic!!

I was thinking the same!

As for Chelsea... I bet they get that reduced so they are free to buy players next summer.

I'd imagine that the sentence will be "suspended", just like everything else in life these days (even murder).

Politics aside, weren't they given a suspended sentence over the Cashley incident, which included a three point deduction?

You're right. Wasn't it it's suspended for two years, in case a similar complaint is made.

Surely this is a similar complaint? ;)

Will we now be told that "tapping-up" is different to "inducing"?

Edit: Re-read the article, and the points deduction only occurs if they do the same next season (ie. 2006-07). Load of Ballacks?

Didn't they sign him in 2006, the year we left Highbury? I don't remember him playing at the Emirates for us. That makes it three years. Even if it were 2007, that'd still be two years; double the requirement.
