Does anyone truly believe that the fans have the power to drive out players that are not liked as much as others?
If that was the case I would suggest that certain players such as Eboue would have been out the door long ago.
The simple truth is this. Adebayor used our club as a stepping stone to raise his own personal profile and also the figure on his payslip.
Most, if not all, Arsenal fans liked Adebayor for the first few seasons but he lost a lot of respect when he gave contradicting statements in interviews only half hour apart. After the one good season he had he wanted out believeing that his services and ego were now more suited to a giant such as AC Milan or Barcelona. Arsenal was no longer a big enough club for a guy of limited ability from Togo who had enjoyed one decent season scoring 30 odd goals. A better finisher would have had 40 something in that term as he also missed chance after chance laid on a plate for him by a side that was in full flow.
Adebayor is a mercenary liar who not only tried to mug us off like pricks by claiming his mobile was off all summer but by also kissing the badge when all he wanted was out and a bigger salary. His attitude last season stunk and his body language was indicative of what he thought of his team and us, he couldn't give a flying fuck.
Please stop trying to defend the actions of this ungrateful, deceitful and disloyal wanker and ask yourself a question. Why would we all dislike a player that was scoring goals on a regular basis for us if his conduct towards the club and the supporters was acceptable?
The simple answer is we wouldn't have and we would still be chanting that fucking idiotic song!
One person is responsible for the venom directed at Adebayor and that is the mercenary c**t himself.
Arsenal Fans wrong to drive away Adebayor?

I think when he put the effort in he was our best and most dangerous striker by some distance...he was a real handful to any centre back pairing... the problem is when he didn't put the effort in he was a liability and his attitude was a poisonous influence on the players around him.
He definitely has the ability to be one of the best strikers in the country if he could control his ego...but he can't...he's putting the effort in now because he needs to prove himself, but it won't take long before his ego gets out of control again and then we'll see the Ade of last season..Ade the Superstar... the God..
Getting rid of him was no mistake, not replacing him, may be a mistake, only time will tell.

Think about it folks. Just be objective for a while a flee from hatred, bitterness and unforgiveness.
Ade has been our best striker over the last 2 years(make it 3 now).
It was also said that he should have scored more since arsenal created so much. But Bendner and RVP aren`t(weren`t) scoring more, while Ade is scoring more at City. So he is obviously better than those 2 and gives us aerial and physical presence. Wenger bought no one, so the side wasn`t strengthened. Look at how weak the bench was against manu?
So if the fans had been forgiving and showed ade some love, things could have been different.
The fans may have erred greatly, but time will tell.
The last time Ade got lots of love at Arsenal, the team challenged for the EPL title, but wenger was too stubborn to strengthen and handed the title to SAF. So if we forgive wenger, why not adebayor and wenger flirted with real Madrid.

I don't disagree with you that he is better than RVP, not to mention Backdoor, in terms of scoring goals. However, is he a top-class striker we need or we will miss like Henry? I think the answer is definite. So if a striker who is a *word censored* and wants to rob your pocket, even though he may be one of the better stirkers in the team, do you want this kind of player to play for us? Well I don't!GUNNERRRZ wrote:Think about it folks. Just be objective for a while a flee from hatred, bitterness and unforgiveness.

I used to defend Ade a lot last season, as I had the same point as you mentioned above. But every time, he made me disappointed. His performance against ManU in the CL semi-final was totally disgrace to the club and to the supporters. I couldn't believe that you will miss him. I would rather keep Bendtner in the team cos his attitude is just much better Ade, period!

He was not our best striker last season. He couldn't be arsed to score and when he had chances he bottled them as usual. The year before he worked hard, but do you remember that lull that he had? He couldn't score or come close to save his life. He was a top scorer because we had no other options up front. RvP was injured most of that season and when he did play he took his chances well but still missed 80% of the time. I'll admit greedy did have a good season, but most of his goals were against poor opposition much like his goals have been this year.

Did we really need a strong bench against them? We really have never had a strong striking bench, its always pretty much been the same. We had Eddie and Bendtner on the bench which was all we needed. We lost the game and not because of offense.
So if the fans had been forgiving and showed ade some love, things could have been different.
If that *word censored* wouldn't have been such a hypocrite things would have been different. He showed massive disrespect against the fans and the club. He dug his own grave.![]()

Why do you say AW and Cesc flirted with other clubs? It was more like other clubs were flirting with them as said in a previous post. Both came out publicly and said they were not interested in other clubs. Massive difference between denying and saying ade would love the chance to move to milan or barca. Think about it before you write.

I can't believe anyone thinks greedywhore is a great striker again because of these early days at Citeh. He may well bag them 20+ PL goals this season, but he won't next season or ever again.
He arrives at a club feeling motivated and hungry, does the biz, then gets lazy and sits back admiring himself for being great. This will happen at Citeh too, once the "honeymoon" period is over.
And he'll probably turn his mobile off again next summer while his parasite sorry agent tries to wrangle a move to the Barcawhores or Madrid...
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Re: Arsenal Fans wrong to drive away Adebayor?
3 goals for Man City against Blackburn, Wolves and Portsmouth - relegation fodder- and all of a sudden we've shot ourselves in the foot. Wait till the wanker comes back from the Afro Nations having fallen out with his manager again and we'll see....GUNNERRRZ wrote:Well Arsenal has sold their best striker and has failed to replace him. Yes he may have flirted with Barcelona/milan like Cesc, but was it right for the fans to drive him away?
Is Arsenal stronger without him? Surely not. They haven`t replaced him with Huntelaar so average strikers like VanP and Bendtner cannot fill his shoes. Eduardo is quality but physically weak and injury prone.
So did Arsenal fans shoot themselves in the foot? Time will tell. Now that we have Arsha, the new Pires, we need a new Titi, surely VanP and Brendtner will never give us 30 goals like Ade, so its not looking good.
Even if We sign Chamakh in january, he cannot fill Ade`s shoes.
So did Arsenal fans made the biggest mistake in history by not giving Ade the love they give Cesc?(though Cesc flirted too).
