Actually, no that's not entirely true (although I am doing Maths A-level). In a football context, I think statistics need to be considered carefully, as in most cases they need contextualising with qualitative judgements.
For example, I don't believe that pointing out the Denilson has the most completed passes in the Prem proves that he's the best DM, or even the best midfielder, for example.
