As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

cheers mate, unlucky today, but i still reckon you'll be up there with chelsea by the end of the season. A good couple of signings in january and you might go on to win it, but alas spending looks a bit unlikely, good luck anyway

I wasn't having a go, far from it. I have nothing against Sunderland, but assumed that on an Arsenal forum there would only be Arsenal fans.
I clearly made an ass out of u and me (sorry for that).
And I wasn't at that game, due to a low income I can only go to the games when I can afford to/when tickets become available for general sale. Not too often.
fair play mate, no bother, as mentioned, i have nothing against the arsenal, my best mate is a gooner so, amongst other games, i went to watch arsenal away at roma, and loved being amongst your fans, we've always got on with AFC so i enjoy coming onto an AFC forum and chatting with other good fans
As mentioned i do post on an SAFC forum quite often, but like to drop in and see how arsenal are doing- if you look back at my past posts you will find i have never been disrespectful about the arsenal. I just felt like offering an alternative point of view, not about his indefensible stamp, just about his celebration
any one who gets to as many games as they can afford is a true fan as far as im concerned, so im sorry for questioning your support- i genuinely hope your lot go on to win the league and, as i have mentioned, i see no reason why you cant despite this setback (although after watching them at sunderland, i feel chelsea might well have it in the bag)
I appreciate football fans, not just football club fans (if that makes sense). I go to watch other teams because I enjoy football. I go to my locals Luton Town and the franchise that is MK Dons.
An unbiased point of view is definitely a good thing, it would probably keep some people in check.
Like I said earlier, I have nothing against Sunderland. I think the purchase of Lorik Cana will prove to be a steal, and I wish them well.
Now that has been sorted let's get back on topic, Adebayor is a cu*t!

oh you'll get no argument from me there- anyone who wants to leave the arsenal to go to man city is obviously a money grabbing twat but, annoying though he is, if i was getting abuse all match id rub it in if i scored as well. I wouldnt worry about him tbh, he'll win fuck all at city

You didnt answer the question about the Rokers
One more quick point - people seemed to think it was Roy Keane who started bring the Irish lads there but I remember the likes of Charlie Hurley (prob you're best ever player?), Babb, the two Butler's (Thomas & Paul), Thornton, McAteer, Healy, Elliott, Joe Murphy, Alan Quinn, Richie Ryan, Rossiter etc etc way before he came......only got a mention over in Ireland when he got the job!
we were known as the Rokerites and still dont mind it- Roker is a 100% SAFC part of Sunderland and means more to us than "the black cats"
Yep, we've always had a lot of Irish lads, Hurley is probably our best ever (him and Shackleton who started his career at the arsenal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Len_Shackleton are probably our best ever players)
Keane brought a lot of publicity to the irish lads at the club, but we've always had a lot of them, especially due to the fact there are a lot of irish people in sunderland. I think as long as quinny is with the club, there will always be an irish representation
PS talking about ireland, its about time the newly trim and fit andy redi got in your squad, he deserves it!
And Gary Breen too. "We all dream of a team of Gary Breen's" we sang during the World Cup of 2002 and he's a Gooner
As for Reid, apparently he was encouraging the lads to head out during a training camp in Portugal then there was the infamous incident in Germany and Trap wasn't too happy so I think his chances of playing for Ireland under Trap could well be numberd.

lol, the gary breen song was class.
aye, reidy can be a bit mad like, but he's a good lad. the ireland team went out a lot when charlton was there and it did them no harm! He has shown a lot of commitment to take the weight off and looks easily good enough for the ireland squad at the minute- i hope he gets back in

Things were different then to be fair. The players were better for a start - the drinking culture isnt accepted by foreign coaches either...oh unless your Martin Jol!

to be fair, i think the lad has changed- the drinking culture wont be accepted at SAFC now and he has knuckled down, got in shape and is looking class. IMO he is much, much better than stephen hunt, liam miller and liam lawrence (And i should knowm we had two of the useless buggers playing for us!). I reckon he would also be more effective nowadays than duff, as i say, well worth his place in the team

Yeah but I aint gonna argue! Trap is the most successfull coach in Europe so with a track record like his I'm happy with the Squad.

fair enough- he obviously knows his stuff like and, tbh, im not convinced that reid should even get his game for SAFC (has o be cana and cattermole in the middle so richardson will often play on the left), but i do think trap might regret not having him in the squad
franksav63 wrote:Kevinho, what fucking abuse was he given, hardly any? Do you go to all the games? I do, and I never heard any constant abuse
As I've said, loads and loads of times, that lazy c**t got off lightly last season, he should have been crucified after what had done, (or not done) what he did, at any other club, he would have been.
I went to every domestic game last season but one and almost every time I heard at least boos and abuse to varying degrees.
Look, I'm not saying he didn't deserve it based on his "efforts" but having done that we can't then get our knickers in a twist when he gives it back is all I'm saying.

Again, it was the odd boo here and there, I feel us Gooners are very restrained, if it had been constant barracking in vast numbers I could, perhaps, understand his reaction.
Anyway, here's to April, when he comes over to The Arsenal, then he'll get what he should have got all last season.
Lethal wrote:his celebration caused the fans to go forward like mental and a bloke two seats away from me falling over and smashing his head open covered in blood
so yeah im gonna blame that lanky c**t for it
lets be honest, the lad should be able to be annoyed without falling over. Fair enough, he was pissed off and you blame adebayor for it, i suppose maybe id be the same if darren bent left us and did the same, but surely you've seen the thread where people are saying what song they should sing, they are all calling him a c**t for things just about everyone would do (go to another employer for more money). You cant exactly write songs against him then
expect him to be "professional" when he scores against you. Ofcourse he will rub it in. Ban him for the stamp, it was disgusting, but moaning about the celebration smacks of the kind of double standards that are ruining football.
Like that Greedy bastard logs onto this forum, looking at what we've posted about him.
