What game to take the missus to?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What game to take the missus to?

Post by onemoreminute »

Maybe this has been covered before, not too sure, but the better half wants to come along to the grove to, her words, see what all the fuss is about!

Firstly, any suggestions what might be an ideal ' First game' to go along to and secondly, any of you lot have good/bad expereinces taking your wives/girlfriends/boyfriends? to the Arsenal?

I've taken a couple of girlfriends (not at the same time) up the Arsenal. The first one I took was to the Millennium Stadium for the Charity Shield against Liverpool. That was a fairly harmless one to go to as there was very little on the line.

I plan to take my girlfriend now to the Spuds game over the Christmas as I'm hoping that'll be a pretty impressive atmosphere.

So to answer your question, it depends on what tickets you can get for her first. Would a game like the Spuds be an option for you and your missus?

Go to a easy enough game, my first was a one nil lose to Liverpool at Highbury so it wouldn't impress me if i was your bird (if she is a Arsenal virgin)
But my love goes on 8)

I personally would enjoy that one as all her family and mine are spud fans so she could really taste the atmosphere of a NLD, i doubt i could get tickets though as only a red member, but i do have a few contacts who could help.

Ive got a couple of signed photo's of TH14 of which are on the wall in the spare room, not allowed in the living room, but my 'coup de gras; ,spelling?, is my signed and framed , invicibles' shirt , 21 signatures from that memorable season, encripted with the badge at the bottom of the frame and 'the invincibles' alongside.

This is still in the selophane wrapping from when i purchased it 3 years ago as i cant decide where it should be displayed, hallway is looking fav at the mo so as visitors arrive they are greeted with this superb exhibit and i can explain, happily, why its so special!!

Guys it has been soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long since my first match that I can't think of any advise from a female footy virgin view point.

Any match you can get tickets for I'd say.
