yes i agree with all that you have said, wenger does make quite afew odd decisions but alex ferguson has also made alot of bizzare choices in his time, the latest being replacing the 2nd best player in the world with an average winger in antonio valencia, i know he is average because when i moved to wigan in 2004 i use to watch him play every other weekend, so even the best managers make very odd choices. But in my opinion i would rather have the club taken over and give wenger a chance when we know he has backing, than keep the same board get a new manager and find ourselves in the same position or worse off. if wenger was sacked and then we then found out our problems didnt lie with him i would be gutted and ashamed

azz91 it would be my opinion that things are not working out for the club right now. We can put a large chunk of the blame on the state of our finances but to hide behind that as the only reason for our demise is niave and wishful thinking imo. In my opinion we have few real class players in our team anymore so it is all the more vital that we build a team around them to best maximise their talents and again in my opinion playing arshavin as a winger takes away about 50% of what he brings to the team
Success shouldnt always be judged on trophies but progress is all important and we simply aint progressing
I honestly believe that 2 seasons ago we had a freak season challenging for the league (like the scum did the season they nearly done us for 4th) in that we perhaps overperformed given the talent at our disposal but at the same time it gave us real good base to build on as we went forward. However all we have done since is sell sell sell and by and large our buying policy is bizarre - how the fcuk have we got nasri, rosicky, theo, eboue and now arshavin all vying for the 2 wing positions but yet we cannot get even 1 quality physical DM ??
Why is wenger buying so many midgets and then bemoaning the fact that teams are bullying us all over the park ? Why were we turned over so many times last season only for wenger to question the players attitude saying that the opposition wanted it more ? Isnt it the managers job to ensure that regardless of any result the players are always up for the games ?
I am really really fed up that so many fans and more worryingly the players seem to think that they are playing for arsene fc and not Arsenal FC
They are beyond reproach and hide safely behind the protective barrier that is wenger who constantly defends them in spite of increasing evidence of their weaknesses
Time for a change methinks cos as things stand the board, the manager and the players are just cruising about in their own little comfort zone while us gobshites fund their privileged lifestyle with money we cant afford to spend

Success shouldnt always be judged on trophies but progress is all important and we simply aint progressing

Although everything I wrote on that thread was factually true, I was being a bit factitious to be honest.tasha7 wrote:Sorry, I missed it amongst all the doommongering!I Hate Hleb wrote:

But, forgive me for saying so, but even your thread seems a bit of a reaction against the overreaction of the naysayers. .

Maybe it's because you a recent convert to the forum, but some of us have been having this discussion for the past 18 months. There's only so many times you can point something out before even the most patient fan starts losing his rag and reverts to anguished rants at the Board, manager and players.tasha7 wrote: Maybe I've just missed it, but I'd like to see some discussion about WHY things are going the way they are...
The problem is that there have been too many 'stupid individual mistakes' and 'bad days at the office'! There comes a time when you have to seriously question whether the players are good enough, and whether even the manager - who keeps saying he thinks they are of sufficient quality - is himself good enough anymore. Questions also have to be asked as to whether the defenders - and indeed the team - are being coached properly, something many of us have queried.tasha7 wrote: You mention the defending in your thread and the fact we've conceded 6 goals in 2 games in Manchester, despite the addition of a CB who looks like a proper player and a change in formation designed to help the whole team defend from the front through midfield.
At least five of these goals can be attributed to stupid individual errors so we have to ask, did we just have a couple of bad days at the office or is there something else going on, something that can be quickly and easily rectified? .
I can assure you all these things have been discussed repeatedly and at length on this forum in the past, and no doubt will continue to be so. There will be disgruntlement among the fans whilst things aren't going as well as we would all wish them to. After seeing the side steadly decline in quality and spirit over the past few years, burying our heads in the sand and saying 'things will be alright in the end' is no longer an option for some of us.
I feel extrememly sorry for Almunia for his personal tragedy, but the truth is that he hasn't been considered a good enough goalkeeper for a top club like Arsenal by a fairly large proportion of the fans - especially on here - long before this season's under-performance.tasha7 wrote: For example, I've read on another forum that Almunia recently suffered a bereavement and if this is true, it's no wonder his form is suffering and it's obviously a huge handicap for the team in these very tight matches against top opposition where the margins between victory and defeat are tiny.
As someone who was prepared to give him a chance once he deposed Lehmann, I soon became aware of his deficiencies but was willing to give him more time to grow into the role of Arsenal's number 1 and show he was good enough.
Disappointedly, he hasn't progressed at all since the German's departure and I am now steadyfast in my belief that whilst we have him in our goal, he will prove more of a hinderance than a help in our quest to win trophies.

I hope this post has managed to answer at least some of your points in a manner worthy of your Facebook chums.
