Common sense seems to be lacking at UEFA, if there had been some, Eduardo would never have been charged in the first place.Coppo d' Gooner wrote:Good and so it should be.
Especially as that w@nker taylor only got a 3 match ban for breaking Eddie's leg.
Finally some common sense has prevailed

Why do I bother listening to talksport. I turned it on at 8.50 to hear the sports headlines at 9 and they had Eduardo's agent on defending his player and saying that Arsenal had video evidence and the the support of the ref from the Celtic game. Alan Brazil talking over him told him that only 1% of people thought it was not a dive.
They go on about giving the ref support and respect but then in situations like this they ignore that.
I hate talklsport

Agreed 100%.richpye wrote:
I'm certain he still has it in for English teams.
I think he was just cornered with this one. The comment that Wenger made re Messi's headbutt probably hit home.
Platini will want to ban Englishmen but not if it means hes got to ban a Barcelona player as well or UEFA would have ended up in court
Not sure, but I don't think Platini is on the appeals committee? He got sideswiped on this one. He'll be back after the PL and Wenger soon enough...
I still think Eddie dived though, tbh...

It means nothing of the sort...this case was about Uefa trying to selectively change the rules..it was about them trying to impose a red card in retrospect for an offence that had it been punished at the time would have got nothing more than a yellow..I doubt even Wenger believes he didn't dive..harrietharmman wrote:This is great. All this hassle is probably worth it in a way. The verdict now means Eddie has officially been ruled as a non-diver! Not many players can say that!

Well at the very least the ruling means it wasn't a clear dive and thus these idiots in the media can get off their high horse when there are so many genuine undeniable cheats aroundBergkamp-Genius wrote: It means nothing of the sort...this case was about Uefa trying to selectively change the rules..it was about them trying to impose a red card in retrospect for an offence that had it been punished at the time would have got nothing more than a yellow..I doubt even Wenger believes he didn't dive..
A proper dive involves both a lack of contact AND an appeal for a penalty, neither of which occurred in Eduardo's case.

Eddie has been judged innocent and it clearly means a lot to him and probably the rest of the guys. Cascarino, Colleymore and even Matt Dickinson in the Times can go jump - they are only trying to justify what had become an untenable view following closer examination of the evidence. A hat-trick v Liege would shut them up
