Good shout. I really don't think getting rid of Wenger is the answer but the team does need a defensive minded persons influence such as Bould. Think he would make a good no. 2 because he wouldnt get above himself but his input would be valuable.franksav63 wrote:Boot Pat Rice somewhere else within the club and get Steve Bould sitting beside AW, with also Martin Keown there also.
At the same time he would be learning off wenger and could take over the reigns one day

Unfortunately, I can't see what he brings to the table anymore mate. It's on good authority that Pat Rice is a yes man.flash gunner wrote:I cant understand why Pat Rice gets stick (its not the first time on here) the decisions come down to Wenger and he should be held accountable
Someone else as Wenger's number 2 would bring in something new and fresh, and perhaps give him a kick up the arse once in a while.
I'm reluctant to say things have gone stale until I see how this season goes.flash gunner wrote:Its gone stale, time to have a think about Wengers reign?
Our performances thus far haven't been too bad, but defensively we're in freefall, and considering Wenger made sorting out the defence a priority over the summer, you have to wonder why we're as bad as we are!

Conceding 8 goals in 4 league games, and 2 again last night, is very worrying and more so when you consider the amount of inividual and collective mistakes in such a short period of time

It's frightening how quickly our organised, focused, disciplined perfomances against Everton, Celtic and the first 60 minutes against ManUre have given way to the shaky, error prone, shambles we have now.
There's so much talent in this team, but without the mental strength, focus and discipline to go with that, we're always going to struggle.
(oddly enough, whereas I see mental strength being a flaw of ours... Wenger seems to see it as one of our main strengths?

IMO fab going would not be too bad.
Two years ago, he was a fantastic player.
However, ever since Euro 2008, his form has been patchy.
He still thinks of himself as a galactico.
As do other clubs.
I do not.
Therefore, sell him for what will be a wildly inflated price.
I figure Rosicky and Arshavin will do perfectly fine in his position.
I would also like to see Denilson tasked with an attacking role..

The problem I have with a few of these suggestions (replace pat rice, sell cesc etc) is that it is skirting around the issue and not fixing the main problem which is wenger himself. I said all along that this player loyalty to wenger is based on an expectation to be winning trophies or at least seriously contesting for the big prizes and players like cesc are not stupid and know that we are realistically nowhere near
Every summer he see's players that he views as good players depart without being replaced and he must be pissed off with where the club is going and in turn questioning his own future at the grove. I said during the summer that if cesc left it would be with my eternal thanks for the service he has given us and that remains now regardless of his current form and I firmly believe that he is entitled to expect better and bigger ambitions from wenger and the club in general. However while he is here he should not be treated any differently than anybody else and playing like he is lately should result in him losing his place which might be fine and dandy if we had anybody to replace him (and please dont mention diaby
)
Rice's situation is different in that age and outdated idea's might be working against him. However this crap about him being a yes man with wenger or not being a shouter at the players is utter nonsense. Wenger surrounds himself with yes men in the boardroom and on the coaching and would not tolerate for 1 second anybody questioning him or his dream project
Likewise I cannot see wenger allowing anybody to work alongside him that would bollock his little babies when they are doing fcuk all during training or matches so what can rice do ?
I am not looking for a way to have a pop at wenger here but there is no point trying to lay blame in places that it does not belong either

Cesc has been off form but along with Arshavin is our only truly world class player.I will judge Rosicky after he has played 10 games if he can stay fit
As for Denilson not good enough and would not get into any of the other top 3 teams
