WIGAN HOME

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Zackly mate Zackly !....Wigan under new manager 'Play Football' they pass the ball really well, and we'll need to to be on our toes from the off, or get punished.....i hope AW gives Ramsey a chance...if he playes well - and there's no reason he wouldn't he could usurp denilson! :D

I think it's about time we gave someone a Right F*cking Tonking......just to settle things down a bit! :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

there are a few things i'm hoping that happens this season, but maybe what i want to see the most is our best starting 11, which in my humble opinion is almunia; lasagna, willy, tommy v, clichy; song, cesc, rosicky; arshavin, eduardo (up front), rvp (on the right). a fucking dream team.

but this being arsenal, i know it will never happen...

i would have to add Theo into that list (at his very best of course)

the problem is, to put theo you have to take rvp or arshavin off. that's why he is on the bench for me. i hate to put nasri there too, but that's life...

I think that our best chance of winning this match is by scoring more goals than Wigan 8)

Goundhog Day......just another day of watching an overpaid, underacheiving team of wusses struggle to beat teams that they should be wiping the floor with :( Our goalkeeping situation is a joke and I honestly believe that if we put the 3 of our keepers together we still wouldnt make a quality keeper

Rosicky is going to be the key player for us right now imo - far too many of our players, especially offensive players, are not in top form at the mo (cesc, rvp, eduardo) and the russian genius is injured so we really need our czech dynamo to be on his game buzzing all over the place and linking up the game. I agree with the other comments stating that ramsey should be given a starting position if for no other reason than those ahead of him are not doing the business  I think ramsey could be a really good player for us but only if wenger starts giving him proper playing time and not 10 minutes here or 20 minutes there and surely not playing him is only "killing his development" as wenger likes to say

The outcome of this game will depend on how much protection mannone gets between the sticks - if they are creating chances up front then I fear for us I really do but if we can keep the likes of rodellga (?? ) quiet then this is a game we should be winning. 3-2 to the Gooners 8)

I don't want to tempt fate but Wigan at home last season was the match where Eboue's name became

EBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUE

Will it happen again today if they put in a performance like the 1st half in Liege or the last 15 mins at Middle East Lands???

Can't understand the optimism above. We rarely beat Wigan convincingly. I know they have a new manager and different style of play but we are not exactly firing on all cylinders either.

I am setting off in an hour or so feeling far more nervous than I should for a home game v Wigan.

(Looking forward to seeing the muriels  tho)

Lets hope my pessimism is ill founded and we stuff the buggers. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
