Jack Wilshire??????

Post by ambarron »

Five league games in, three champions league games in -

correct me if I am wrong but has his sole appearance been a 20 min sub appearance v celtic at the emairates???

why why why?? i know he is young but he is such a talent and in a squad where quality is lower than in previous seasons, why isnt he getting more game time!!

the same question applies to Vela (although I don't rate him in the same league as JacK)

He also came on for the last couple of minutes against Liege, but your point is correct. Saturday would have been a great opportunity to give him 20 minutes of so but Wenger choose to put Bendtner on at right midfield - a position the Dane admitted he doesn't like playing - instead!! :banghead:

Unfortunately, Wenger would prefer to play some of the players out of position in his never-ending quest to produce 'total football' - even if it is at the expense of team balance!!

C'mon ramon

The point is bring him on when the game is won with 30 mins to go like the Pompey and Wigan games were.

After we went 2-0 up on Saturday I predicted Wenger’s substitutions and was exactly right with who would come on and off. Other top managers would have used this as a chance to give a couple of the youngsters some game time but it’s like Wenger has a rigid plan that he won’t deviate from.

Bendtner has played in every game so far this season so I am sure he wouldn’t have been gutted to not get on and even if he was it shouldn’t influence Wenger’s decision. He also had the opportunity to take off someone like Cesc (recently injured) or Gallas (injury prone) to avoid further injuries but he never does. He’ll then complain about them being fatigued/injured later in the season.

Knowing Wenger he’ll end up throwing Wilshere and Vela into a tough away game from the start when the team are struggling in the winter months.

They will be given chances i think - you know how he is with the younger lads - he wont play them until he thinks they are ready to peak -remember with Walcott too

You can predict the subs coming on as they are the ones who warm up just after half time and barring injuries the 1st sub will be around the 65-70 minute mark whether we are winning or losing

Fair point!

Might have a go at predicting them before kick off on Saturday, reckon I won't be far wrong (barring injuries of course).

Maybe one eye on the Carling Cup match as he will almost certainly play the full ninety?

Wenger is doing the right thing and easing Wilshere in... There is a ton of expectation on his shoulders and he is only 17... long season ahead, he will make plenty of appearances this season... :barscarf:
