Nice to see some lads from the Home Internationals breaking through, but at the end of the day I hope it's a case of them meeting our standards rather than lowering ours to incorporate theirs.
At the end of the day when people talk that Arsenal haven't done anything for English talent - we have given them a standard to meet, it's up to them to meet it.
And when former Arsenal talent like Ashley Cole, David Bentley and no doubt in the next 12 months or so Jermaine Pennant and Steve Sidwell it's a bit hard to say that we have given nothing whatsoever.

It would be nice obviously to have more english players in the 1st team ranks, but we as a club owe the national team nothing and if it means mainaining the amazing level of football we play I'll take 11 foreigners thanks.
As others have pointed out, you only have to look through squads in the Prem and Division 1 to see we've played our part for english players, whether they play here or not.

I have to say that I go with rebel on this, I couldn't give a sh*t where players come from. We are spoilt at Arsenal by the fantastic football we see played by our team and I really enjoy that feeling. Yes if they are English and good enough then great but I don't feel guilty of having so many foreigners in our team.
the problem with looking at the youth set up is that now they are great but can they make the step up,, every year we hav good youth teams but how many hav gone on to greater things,, cashly
and bentley excluded,, i would like to see some english players in our team but as cus has said,, they must meet our standards and not the other way round;; if your good enough then dont care where your from
