Emmanuel Eboue

Post by Swale_Gooner1985 »

Right, i could be about to get my head taken off here...but hear me out!

Eboue has probably taken the most stick out of the current squad and at times i will grant you he has been a bit of a joke! but i would like to give the man some major credit. After last season when he left the pitch to a chorus of Boos i wondered if that would be the end of him at Arsenal, having your own fans turn on you must be the worst feeling in football?

The lad got his head down, worked very hard and got himself back in contention, this shows he has real character, not only this but recently his performances have been nothing short of excellent, when he comes on he is always nice and positive, links up well and causes the opposition problems.

He has played at right back a few times this season and have to say that at this moment he would be ahead of Sagna, his defensive game has improved massively, he is playing with some confidence now and seems assured in everything he does, he had a great game there on tuesday, plus he offers far more going forward, and with this formation, support from the full backs is important, his crossing is better than Sagnas for a start, but i like the way he doesnt always look to sweep it into the box, he tries to play football and looks for the pass inside or tries to get to the line.

I personally think he should be given a little run at full back as he is looking better all the time, he absolutely loves playing for Arsenal too, you can see that, it means an awful lot to him, and unlike his mate who went to City he has realised his performances were below par and gone about improving that and showing the fans what he can really do. It seems he is well liked around the club too, all the players say he is funny and always up to things, so its good to have someone like that around!

The one thing he does need to do is learn to keep his head a bit more when he gets into the box as he tends to snatch at the ball a bit, but other than this he is doing well

Right, ive finished now, you can tell me im mad if you want?

Na, I agree with most of the stuff you've said there Swale.

Since Boogate he's gotten his head down and grafted. Although in games where we're facing stronger opposition I'd still rather see Sagna at RB, but when we're playing the likes of Wigan, Pompey etc and are going to have the majority of the ball in their half then he provides the better attacking option from right back.

sorry but Radford can tell you this guy is a shit player, forget the "loves playing for Arsenal" stuff. and the "he works hard bit.

he IS a shit player. he looses the ball OFTEN, is poor when going forward, constantly STILL falls over ALL the time. everytime Radford sees him "play" Radford cringes at the fact that such a poor player starts first teams games.

people find him funny, yea that's right FUNNY. he amuses the poor souls who fail to see the poor player that he is.

after being booed off (rightly by the way) he should have done the honourable thing and resigned.

Radford can't stand the *word censored* and wishes he would fuck off now.

while i take all your points on board, i still would rather c the back of him. the crap this bloke has served up the past few seasons was unforgiveable, and its gonna take a hell off a lot more to convince me that hes worthy of a place at our club. right back as sagans back up is the ONLY time he should c action on the pitch. playing him anywhere else, is a hinderance to the team, and of no benifit to us. aye hes being doing ok this season against weak opposition, but what dose he do when faced against stronger opposition???? sfa is the answer. he still dives, rolls around like hes been shot, brandishs fake cards, etc, so he still has a whole lot to learn. i,ll tell u how stubborn wenger is with this cabbage. do u think ferguson, moruinho, o,neill etc, would have give this fool the amount of chances wenger has, like hell they would. mark my word, this fool will eventually do something that weneger will eventually run out of patience with him, and fcuk him off, as he should have done in the summer, when fioerintina where looking for him. good riddance i say.

I agree with most points that have already been made, but I also would like to see the back of him, as I personally can't stand him.

Whilst, he looks good against the mediocre teams, he is always found wanting against the top teams, Chelski in the semi-final last season just one example.

He also, lives on a knife edge, getting stupid bookings, (the handball in the recent Wigan game, the dive against Manure this season (just after the 'Eduardo incidence' another) and not forgetting the mindless sending off against Spuds last season.

The thing is now, he appears to have been turned into some kind of cult figure by some of our fans which is just plain daft imo.

To paraphrase Oliver Cromwell

Swale suggests that Radfords oppinion isnt the be all and end all unfortunately! Just because you say he is shit doesnt actually mean its true, I dont think Wenger would play shit players in his first team and im pretty sure Wenger is in a far better position to judge how a player is performing than you!

Eboue has done well after the way he was treated last season (which was a disgrace) and is clearly improving

Was expecting that....but it really annoys me when people say players are Shit, as you dont get into the Arsenal first team for a sustained period of time by being a shit footballer, Eboue, Diaby etc... are not shit footballers, they are just not the best of the best, people dont seem to realise that not every player can be the teams best player, some will differ in ability, but none are shit
