Kid is De biz four Wenger

ARSENAL are poised to move for Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour.
The Belgian international is currently out with a broken foot but Arsene Wenger is a big fan.

The Gunners boss has sent scouts to watch Defour but knows he faces competition from Valencia and Everton for his signature.

Defour, 21, recently agreed a contract until 2012 and will cost around £8million.

++++

There's a surprise, out with a broken foot, he should fit in well... :?

Gunners legend set for return

By AIDAN MAGEE, 03/10/2009
PATRICK VIEIRA looks poised to finally return to Arsenal on an 18- month deal in January.

The Gunners legend was lined up for a move back to London in the summer but the club didn't get the £750,000 fee to Inter Milan before the deadline.

The France midfielder, who was also wanted by Spurs, even passed a medical at the Emirates.

Vieira, 33, is desperate for a move away from the San Siro after becoming a bit-part player behind the likes of Dejan Stankovic, Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti and Sulley Muntari.

He has also been left out of the France squad recently and wants to force his way back into Raymond Domenech's plans ahead of next summer's World Cup.

Arsenal have offered him around £70,000-a-week to make the emotional return and act as an inspiration to the club's youngsters.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "Patrick was an amazing, fantastic player for us. For me, he is perfect for every team. We are very young and it is difficult to win with a young team."

Vieira was an integral part of the Invincibles side that went unbeaten throughout the entire 2003-4 season.

Barca eye eboue
BARCELONA are said to be weighing up a January move for Arsenal full-back Emmanuel Eboue.
The Spaniards need cover for Brazilian defender Dani Alves and have failed to land their first-choice target — Shakhtar Donetsk's right-back Dymtro Chygryskiy.

But reports in the Spanish press suggest Nou Camp boss Pep Guardiola has now turned his attentions to Eboue.

The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international has been in fine form for the Gunners this season — and the Catalans could launch a £7million raid for him in the next transfer window.

GUNNERS IN SHOCK MOVE FOR UNITED STAR!!!
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be on the verge of completing the transfer shock of the decade with a stunning move for Welsh wing-***** Ryan Giggs. The Ushtd legend, who was once lambasted by Alex Ferguson (somewhat ironically, considering as a Welshman he’s usually the one "basting" lambs) for missing an open goal versus the North London club right in front of the Stretford Knob-enders is thought to be a target of Wenger’s as a replacement at centre-back for the long-term injured Johan Djourou and the permanently retarded Mikael Silvestre.
