The SNP look after all scottish people, inc black and brown skin, and the BNP look after british people as long as their "indigenous" (not black, brown or yellow). As for the rest, I guess someone else will pick that apart.

BNP came out looking like fools. That was always going to happen.

The other politicians came across as trying to score cheap points by bashing the BNP at every opportuntiy. A simple statement deploring them at the start would have sufficed and then if they went on to talk about the real issues I would have been happier.
Agreed. We never seemed to get past the cheap points scoring and into real debate.

The problem was that people, understandably, spent the hour venting their anger at Nick Griffin and often shot him down before he'd had chance to finish speaking.

The only way this type of debate would have worked is if he was given a residency slot on Question Time over 3 weeks (or a much longer show!) so that the initial anger and points scoring would subside and we could get down to really questioning his parties views and motives... Sadly, we never got close to that.

It made for interesting viewing, and the BNP came out looking like fools, but I thought it could have been so much more.

Whilst being understandable this is not really what Question Time is about. Any TV channel could do an audience with Nick Griffin just to tell him what they think of him. Again the BBC were at fault a lot by selecting certain questions.

The week before I felt Damain Green made a great point about using the show to intellectually bash the BNP and really expose how stupid they are. Only one panalist Bonnie Greer seemed to pick this up but as she's not a politician I felt she got less talking time than the politicians. :?

Asking politicans to intellectualy bash anyone is like asking the bear not to...and the pope not to be...

It just can't and won't happen.

I watched it on BBC iPlayer on Friday, and it was quite interesting. But he wasn't really given a chance to talk properly, being rudely interrupted and attacked most of the time. One positive is that he took it all on, even laughing at times. I wouldn't take all the shit thrown at me. I do agree with people at the fact that it was not a successful appearance by him. He is a dickhead but I'd like a whole political show dedicated to him and BNP. Where he'd be asked questions, and he'd get a chance to actually answer them. I feel that we haven't found out anything new about them. It might be controversial giving these people more airtime but people should have freewill over making their minds up. Keeping this little problem in the closet won't help anyone.

The fatal flaw with the BNP is that your mate wouldn't be allowed to become a member of the BNP due to his lack of "indigenous" British skin. Look it up, it's in the BNP manifesto.

Until they get rid of the openly racist rules like that one, the rest of their policies will continue to be ignored... for instance, tightening up immigration and using a points system is a very good idea (Australia have been doing it for years, and even the Conservative Party have picked up on it of late)
