Diaby Arrested
Diaby Arrested
Abou Diaby has today been arrested on suspicion of being at the centre of a massive South-Asian gambling ring. Scotland Yard officials were waiting for Mr Diaby at Arsenal's Training Ground this morning as he met his team mates for training. Shocked fellow players were unsure of what to make of the scenes as Mr Diaby was whisked off to Scotland Yard for further questioning.
DI Marks of Scotland Yard gave the following statement in response to the confusing scenes:
"Mr Diaby has today been arrested in connection with a larger operation and crackdown into illegal gambling patterns on Premier League Football matches. The move to arrest Mr Diaby came after this weekends performance against West Ham. We weren't able to make the link sooner as we weren't sure if Mr Diaby was just Shit. However, it appears that Mr Diaby is one of the cleverest players in the Premier League, according to Arsene Wenger, a man we all greatly respect. As this is clearly the case we had no choice but to take further action"
It is believed that Mr Diaby has been trying to sabotage Arsenal's Premier League Campaign since the start of the season, but despite some atrocious performances, the team has carried on winning. With the like s of Tomas Rosicky, Samir Nasri and Theo Walcott all likely to return to the side shortly, it is believe Mr Diaby received orders from his paymasters to escalate his attempts whilst he still had the opportunity, or face the consequences.
What followed was a performance that diabolical, that it started to become obvious that as Arsene Wenger believes Mr Diaby isn't just Shit, there must be something dodgy going on. Numerous Free-Kicks were conceeded by Mr Diaby in dangerous positions, including a "Bear-Hug" which led to the first goal. His offensive threat was also less than threatening, with many players starting to move into defensive positions as soon as Mr Diaby got the ball.
More will follow as we are updated on the situation...

Let's turn that around then. When has Diaby actually won us a game? When has he been so outstanding that he clearly made the difference in the game?SteveO 35 wrote:Yawn - Diaby really was to blame against West Ham wasn't he ? Nothing to do with the lazy Arshavin or another Mannone blunder.
Let's send for Ramsey instead eh ? He's been explosive every time he's set foot on the field.....
I'm not anti-Diaby, because I see a good footballer. But until the constant mistakes end and the whole list of problems continue, then he deserves some taking to task. He needs to perform consistently at an above average level - because he hasn't done that yet (I know he hasn't had a run), but when he gets his chances then he's got to better.
If you already have someone like Arshavin who has hit some extraordinary heights (with us and previously), then it's easier to give a bit of leeway, knowing that it is there.

Steve O you appear to have a problem with fans calling for the likes of vela and ramsey to be given some game time but I cannot understand why

Can't the same thing be said of Song or Eboue ? I'm just sick to the back teeth of Diaby slating on here. Last season Bendtner and Eboue had to put up with it and now there seems to be a campaign to wreck one of our most creative midfielders.Galasso wrote:Let's turn that around then. I can pick games like Villa away last season where Diaby was outstanding. Fenerbahce away last year he was outstanding and he was in great nick at home to Portsmouth this year too. There's a few for you.
What most of you fail to recognise is that he suffered a career threatening injury for us just when he was on the verge of making it as a regular. He then had to put up with Wenger constantly fucking him about over the last 2 years - sticking him out on the flanks to cover for the absent Rosicky and the hapless Walcott (not to mention the countless times when Nasri and others have been unavailable).
This is actually the first decent run he's had in his proper position for 3 years - if you think 8 or 9 games is enough then more fool you. Eboue on the other hand has been a regular on the right hand side on numerous occasions without delivering the goods

The problem with Diaby Steve is that the outstanding games are few and far between.
I feel sorry for the guy tbh, he is getting flack and he will continue to do so as did Eboue, Adebayor and Bendtner but for me the manager is responsible for it because he continues to pick them regardless of if they play well or not.
The squad is almost back to fitness now, there is no excuses to carry players who are not performing, if players play without fear of losing their place and play crap then you can not blame some fans for getting annoyed by it.

Augie - I will echo the response to the other anti-Diaby poster. Firstly - I do not agree that he has had "a mountain of chances". If you count 2 injury hit seasons doubling up as Arsene's substitute left winger and 8 or 9 games this year as a mountain of chances, then I suppose you will disagree.augie wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:Yawn - Diaby really was to blame against West Ham wasn't he ? Steve O you appear to have a problem with fans calling for the likes of vela and ramsey to be given some game time but I cannot understand whyAs galasso has already pointed out diaby has had a mountain of chances and fcuked up the vast majority of them and even the rose tinters will say that on here. You knock two kids who have been given no decent run in the side and have only been given the odd cameo here and there and that is no basis on which to judge them. They may not turn out to be the great players most of us think they will be (esp vela) but ffs give them a chance in the team to see what they can do and if they cant do better than diaby then they, along with him, should be fcuked out of our club at the first available chance
Personally I see more talent in his shoelaces than Ramsey will ever possess. And remember when you get all protective over Ramsey this was the £5m wonderkid we heard so much about who already had experience of Championship football and that we did so well to keep away from Man Utd. I watched him very closely against West Brom in the Beer Cup and personally I think he'll be overtaken very quickly - he has neither the invention of Wilshere or the tenacity and energy of Coquelin. You would think he was a world beater the way people talk about him on here.
As for Vela - he's the new Quincy. If you like showboaters who turn it on when you're 3-0 up against a Championship side then fine. Personally I like my players a bit more consistent. He's had a number of opportunities from the bench in higher profile games and never looked up to it.
I just think that the argument that Diaby has had lots of chances in his right position are inaccurate. Wenger has done his bit to wreck the kid's confidence. If we get into the 2nd half of the season and he has been a regular in CM and is well below par, I will hold my hands up but not till then.
Completely agree - he has also played Diaby out of position for 2 years before this season. I don't blame fans for getting angry BTW - I was actually on here last year defending people's rights to get angry with the team at games. However, there seems to be a one track slagging of Diaby on here, which in my view is way over the top and he is a scapegoat of people's frsutrations. There's no way he was out worst player at West Ham - it's just become the latest fad to blindly slag the kidGunnersaurus wrote:The problem with Diaby Steve is that the outstanding games are few and far between.
