You know you've suceeded as a father when after his first NLD your son turns round to you and says

"Daddy this is the best game I've ever been to"

Impressions on the game now.

I would say it was Bendtner going off that gave us our best chance of success today. We don't offer as much of a threat with him Diaby and Song in the team. We just didn't seem as fluid and quick with so many players who like to take more than one touch in the game. Injuries obviously forced Wengers hand to a certain extent and after a full 90 midweek Nasri couldn't start but I would like to see, especially at home a team geared up to swashbuckle. Pass and move one touch and run the oppo ragged.

Still, a great day. I think possibly the Fabregas goal will be my abiding memory of Arsenal for years to come. I've been to bigger games and seen trophies lifted but when he waltzed through and I almost launched my boy down onto the pitch to celebrate with him, well, that was just a bit special.

Alex Song clearly is a great footballer, as he has proved time and time again this season! but as so many of you said he was shit before (which he wasnt) you cant now admit he is actually excellent!

Song may not be technically even close to cesc, but he's not a Cygan either.
His got strength, that enables him to shield the ball as good as anyone in this team, his passes are short and simple. He knows his limits and that's what makes him great (unlike some players in this team, AKA Diaby). He supports the defence in a brilliant way, and interceptes loads of balls. Not a great footballer, but a great player.

Song can't do it in a two man midfield though.

And that's going to be the test of a truely excellent player. The ability to dominate a midfield single handedly. Essien, Vieira, Keane.

Song will never reach those heights but I am willing to fess up that he is doing well now.

Superb atmosphere!

Superb all-round performance (aside from Diaby who was dire).

Song was thoroughly impressive, no buts.

Fabregas's goal will be replayed throughout the ages!

Love that No5. It really was one of those moments :barscarf:

Interesting view on kNickerless; you have to say he was trying like a bitch while he was on though. Song was alright today as well and despite his obvious shortcomings he fought until the very end. I'm dreading that Diaby is fast approaching the Ebouepoint however because whatever his overall merits or potential he had a 'MARE today and still wasn't subbed - even for his own good.
Que paso AW?

I fear you are correct. Whatever shortcomings an Arsenal player has, I still hate to see them on the end of flak but today some of the crowd really went for him.

Nik was trying his heart out and I'll never slate him for that. We just weren't posing a real threat I felt. Give me a front three of Rosicky, VP and AA fizzing the ball around with Cesc pulling the strings any day of the week. There will be times where Bendtner is effective but when he is joined by similar players in terms of ability and what they do with the ball the game just slows down too much for my liking. Esp at home.

Diaby second half was vastly improved. Must have been told to keep it simple at half time and stop fucking around. Half of me feels he is kept in for height alone. Do you notice that he gets pulled about the pitch for goal kicks? For both ours and the oppositions. He almost always drops to where the ball is going to be launched.

Firstly I have to say that song was fcuking immense today :o 8) Yes I know he might have only been up against fat huddlestones and I agree with donaldo that he is far from an excellent football but today I thought he was outstanding and I'll just focus on that for now :barscarf:

Diaby on the other hand is a different matter - the guy is absolute pants and it is impossible to justify his selection in the team right now. His passing was shambolic, his tackles were embarrassing and his efforts at times as he strolled around was a disgrace  It must be really disheartning for the likes of ramsey who cant get a game ahead of this clown and to the likes of rosicky and arshavin who are always subbed no matter how bad of a game he is having  Said it before and will say it again....wenger must be giving this guy games cos he is french cos other than that he aint contributing fcuk all

I have to disagree with all those praising bedtner today - his touch, his passing and his vision and awareness were woeful today before he was subbed and cesc in particular was getting well pissed off at him and let him know it too.
Finally a word of praise for our entire back 4 who were excellent today.

PS FCUK YOU BENTLY YOU RAT FACED *word censored* & FCUK YOU KEANE YOU PIKEY BASTARD - THERE IS ONLY TEAM IN LONDON AND NEITHER OF YOU *word censored* ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY FOR US :finger:
