You have got to laugh at Spurs

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You have got to laugh at Spurs

Post by PI7ES »

Has there ever been a club with a bigger 'small club mentality' than spurs. Their Executive Director has released an article explaining how their new stadium will be better than the Emirates. Now lets get some facts.

Spurs have no planning permission for this new stadium.
Spurs have no financial plan for this new stadium.
Spurs have no champions league football to fill this stadium.
Spurs have no transport links to support this stadium.

Their Executive Director has based his article around a computer generated picture, im sure every spurs employee wakes up every day dreaming about beating Arsenal in some way. Never happens on the pitch so they have to try and build a better stadium.

Spurs are that annoying little brother who tries for his life time to get the better over his older brother yet ultimately fails as his older brother is always stronger.

Can wait to sit back and laugh when this all goes wrong.

BTW if you want to read the aritcle.

As long as they remain pathetically fixated on us and what we're doing, they'll remain a poor second best to us - they are so deluded it is too sad to be funny.

They really are insignificant..... I can't even take the piss out of the Spud fans at work anymore.... (It gives them the right hump that.... just ignoring their meaningless existence)

"We think the uniqueness of our stadium will make it more iconic, than Arsenal's. It's a great stadium but we think ours will be better. So, going forward, I think we've got a very, very good proposition for people to look at."

Yeah, just like your squad is better than ours

The guy didn't even mention Sp*rs once, all he talked about is us and Chelsea.

What a knob :awnker:

It really is bizarre how they are acting like the whole thing is already functioning and paid for ! :?

It's the transport links that will throw a spanner in the works as much as anything. They must be assuming all the Spuds will arrive on Harry Potter Broom Sticks.

Public transport is already inadequate for their current size. And as for the suggestion that this monument to delusion is going to be "a generation beyond Arsenal's...."

That Dwite Hart Lane character in the Gooner is closer to fact than fiction.

Horrible club, horrible supporters who are arrogant beyond belief and genuinely seem to believe that they are somehow one of the "elite" clubs. Definitely the newcastle of the south- I didnt manage to get a ticket for the match today but I'm sure the usual reports of trouble will materialise. Awful away day is Tottenham. Just a pity we have a weakened side, I'd love to see us go there and smack them. They really deserve that conman harry redknapp. Twats.

 its fair to suggest that i am far from the only SAFC to have a disliking for the bastards as well http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=452753

Still, they'll probably beat us today as, without cana and cattermole (even zendens out) we have very little central midfield strength and without jones we will struggle up front. Hopefully benty has a class game mind, they are suspect at the back so you never know

I saw the report on Sky Sports yesterday and had to laugh. It was a constant rant about how their "naming rights" would be worth more than Arsenal's or Chelsea's. Really?? Do big companies really want their name emblazoned over a stadium which will be seen occasionally on Channel 5 on a Thursday night?? Yes, of course, they'd much prefer to sponsor the (estimated) 6th biggest club in England, than two of the biggest club sides in world. Fuck me, talk about getting ideas above their station.

Also, the new stadium will not get a FIFA "Five star" rating - that deems there is a gap between the stands and the pitch for photographers and crowd management - they're building it in the 1930s style of having the stand end where teh pitch starts. Yes, that can generate a good atmosphere (the old addage "you only sing when you're winning" still rings true though; they make fuck all noise when they're constantly losing), but it won't be considered for any neutral events, such as the 2018 world cup finals or a UEFA cup final.

Deluded *word censored*.

they can fuck off with that like- they're a two bit cup team. They might be beating us today, but we've won the league 6 times, making us the 6th most successful team in league terms- they'd fucking love to do that, win something worth winning, they can go fuck themselves tbh, horrible *word censored*

Oops, I meant current 6th... behind MU, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Villa, Everton... that would put them 8th. that'll do. Useless *word censored* anyway.

Just read the anti-yiddo rant on the SAFC forum, fair play :barscarf:
