Diaby out for 3 weeks

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

he is stronger physically and is capable of injuring a horse!

seriously, i don't see nasri, ramsey and specially rosicky being effective at marking. at least diaby is a decent tackler and interceptor when he is trying a little bit hard to play football (i know, it's not everyday)

I disagree 8)
Diaby has no aggressivity, he shit in the air, he doesn't know how to tackle without break a leg and being sent off ...

Nasri and Ramsey put themself's about more then Diaby. With Abou when his 'trying' to get physical in a game you know it's a foul waiting to happen!
Songs the same at times but at least at times he'll sit back and shadow the ball.

Ramsey I want to see more but I've got this feeling he's a Red card waiting to happen. His eagerness to prove may be his down fall. Someone said rightly against Liverpool he's trying too hard and just needs to concentrate on the simply stuff.

Bring on Nasri! :barscarf:

Can't say I'm too upset that he's injured, it's just a shame there is a 2 week break now as someone could have cemented their value to this side in that time.

Potentialy he could miss only 1 game.

Diaby is the most under rated player in our squad. He has sublime ghosting qualities and eats up ground like nobodies business, he has a terrific engine and his closing down abilities are second to none, who cares his actual footballing skills are limited.................

can you see a player who can actually head the ball properly doing that?? i cannot.

try to imagine vermaelen doing that. ok, vermaelen is a centreback who excels in the art of heading, but even denilson or song wouldn't do that. it was a lack of concentration, poor time judging and terrible technique. i expect better from a player who starts week-in week-out alongside vermalen, fabregas and van persie.

Diaby a defensive midfielder?? There is NOTHING about his game that is defensive, he doesn't tackle....if he does it's often a free kick.....he has NO footballing brain whatsoever, he's casual and slack, poor in the air and gives the ball away/loses possession more than anyone else in the team. I would rather see any of Nasri, Rosicky or Ramsey ahead of him. Diaby offers some flair to the team in an attacking role but his negative points FAR outweigh his positive points.

He doesn't tackle and yet he somehow has our second best successful tackle rate. Imagine what he could do if he did tackle

I hope Nasri can fit into the dm role, if only to mean we had a choice between three players for that role alonside Song, but Ramsey strikes me as too attacking to be a dm, same with Rosicky.
