As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

help needed

Post by tomkingsbury »

posted this on another thread but it was ignored

please help!!

i managed to get a ticket on monday for liverpool away, but i now believe that ive got a restricted view ticket, as this was not mentioned in the text message but later in an email.

i was just wondering two things about the trip: how 'restricted' is this view? and where are the good pubs to go to pre-game? i hear the arkle is the away supporters club but its always really busy so does anyone have any tips or advice. Would be much appreciated!

Feeling shamed  into answering you tom

I can't remember ever having a restricted view so sorry don't know. Maybe if you really want to know then email the official supporters club or contact liverpool themselves and they would surely tell you.

Pubs - I've been in 3 different pubs around there and never had a problem (but i never wear colours). I've generally found the people in the pubs to be ok. Might be different now, maybe have people on the doors, ticket holders only, etc... but if it's close to the ground and looks ok from outside i wouldn't worry too much.

After all, they are the "best fans in the world" :!:

However, I assume no liability for anything that should happen to you

Back of the stand has the usual roof blocking viewsof high balls. As I remember it, there are poles that also restrict the view, but nothing that a bit of leaning won't sort.

Last year in the fa cup there was a great atmosphere on the concourse pre match, so bear that in mind when finding a place to drink.

Enjoy the game!

I must warn you mate, my very first trip to Anfield was ' Severly Restricted View'. It was in 2003 when Bobby scored that stunner at the Anfield Road end!! I couldn't see it for s*it!! I was in the very back row of the travelling gooners and the view is apalling. Like watching the game through a letterbox. The hang of the roof of the upper tier is to blame and I would go as far as to say Its not worth the journey up and back for it. (If you live in London that it?) Now i do know that this year at Anfield there is 'Restriced view' and 'Severly restricted view'. If your ticket is just restricted view you'll be fine as this means your down the front and theres limited leg room (who gives a fcuk?! We'll all be standing anyway!!) But if your ticket is severly restricted I'd do what your mate did, and try and shift it to someone (not letting on how bad the view is!!)

I wear colours to Liverpool there fans tend to be decent. you can have a bit of banter with them usually at the expense of Man Utd.
