Arsenal’s fans are worse than the team

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsenal’s fans are worse than the team

Post by hbarsenal »

I totally agree with the article by Tony Keeble & Marc Ollington why are our fans as they are. Minus a few straggler the RedSection is the only place where you can hear any noise at the Arsenal.

Accepted Club Level followers aren't gonna join in but the rest of the Silent muppets are a disgrace!!

The clock end does have some singers and there have been some jumping atmospheres in this section this season.

Why do we always slate our own fans??

Come on boys! Its not all that bad.

I've been all over and the atmosphere is generally good at the emirates. The redaction people may only hear themselves but I can tell you there is singing in our section (behind away dug out), singing in the end near the junior gunners, singing in the sectoin to the east side of the away fans and also in various parts of the north end. TH may complain about groaning but he would find a lot worse in almost all other clubs!

I appreciate we have a good home record but it is arguable that based on our recent history we have now had 2 underachieving seasons. Despite this I cannot remember the last time we were booed off.

We should talk ourselves up more - we constantly slate our own fans and it means people start behaving like it. Remember we pretty much always sell out our away allocations (despite the regular sat 5.15 ko's) and we always sell out 60000 tickets at home despite the price

The reason some in the media started the "arsenal are quiet" thing was because Highbury rhymed with library, and it picked up from there.

By all means moan about those who leave early in masses but keep it in context and appreciate your fellow gooners. Even the morons who follow spurs and chelsea could hardly boast of a great atmosphere in this afternoons game until the last half hour or so.

Yes Mojo. The clock end does get a good atmosphere going. It seems to me to be the East stand that doesn't make any noise.
