How many ligitimate days off do you get?

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Post by mrgnu1958 »

Remember most of ya"s get weekends off,so that alone works out to 104 days
off.
Then put your annual leave onto that figure.
In the last year ive only had...74 days off.
MADNESS EH!!!! :banghead: :banghead:

I know where you're coming from, ****'y.

I had my own businesses for around thirty years. Always chasing money. Ten hours a day Monday to Friday. Plus weekends. Plus paperwork in the evenings. One week of holiday each year. Hated public holidays because I wasn't earning.

Bollocks to all that. I now get six weeks holiday each year. I get paid on the same day every month. And get full pay even if I'm off sick.

Bloody lovely. :)

Including weekends I get 129 days off a year, 6/7 of which are company allocated.

I went away for 10 days to Spain with some of this holiday?

Why do you ask the second question out of interest?

every year since i was 16 (so 6 years) i worked peak at currys, the only day off you'd get in the 2 weeks before and the week after was christmas day because as soon as the 26th came along, so did all the *word censored* who couldnt wait to get a couple hundred nicker off their new TV  we would always 'volunteer' to not have lunch breaks on boxing day either. never even got half-day on christmas eve because ALL of the sale promo had to be put out and the main deals at the front of displays, so we would start at 9 and not get home til about 6...

im not stupid, i know this time next year i will be (hopefully at least) working my arse off to pay rent and bills and my student loan repayments (you stinkin lot do NOT fund my education, i have to give it all back again) so i will enjoy it while it lasts.

anyway, aren't you sat down all the time you're at work?!

Its only just that i havent had 1 or 2 weeks off for god knows when.
I apreciate that as im a cabby my hours and holidays may be somewhat different from a person on paye.
I should have a full 1 week break somewhere relaxing to re-charge my batterys...Preferably next to a pool or on the beach.
Can anyone recommend anywhere with the sun on me back in january?
