AND IRELAND WILL PLAY........

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Could easily have been given and was no less a penalty than some awarded to English players in the Prem this season. But why let that get in the way of slaughtering Thierry who will now be pilloried as the biggest cheat in the history of the game (would be fascinating to see the reaction had it happened the other way round).

i have no problem with Henry doing what he did, if he did it in red and white we would see fuck all wrong with it.
He was just trying to win at all costs and was quite happy to take a yellow for it if spotted, what the fuck were the three officials at that they saw nothing, they had an excellent game all night but really dropped a clanger there
Henry's reputation will nosedive with me if he comes out after the match and tries to claim it wasn't a handball, i mean for fuck sake it was two handballs.
If i were french i would not bother booking two weeks in South Africa, they will be home after the group stages along with Eng-gur-land and all the other shite.

Am sorry but when decisions dont go your way then anything goes in my opinon.
Hleb had a clear penalty not given in one game and Babel dives in the other etc, football is never fair.

Ireland surely deserved more, and shown a very good spirit on the pitch, while France was shocking once again. Thx to a very good Hugo Lloris.

But if football was fair, then We would've won the CL long ago, and Man U would never be PL champions!!

I have no probs with henry doing what he did and we will all see countless other occasions of players in other teams doing the very same inside and outside the penalty area. If that pikey *word censored* up front for us hadnt fcuked up when through on goal and hadnt tried to catch most balls kicked up to him then the handball could have been unimportant.

Personally I am no longer a big fan of our international team but displays like tonight do instill some pride in me 8) One or two might try and come on here trying to take the piss and get a reaction but what we have is a team with some very limited players but who stuck together, battled hard and stood toe to toe with a french team containing many outstanding players and there are many bigger countries (with imagined self importance  ) that would love to see their team play with the same level of commitment and national pride

By the way congrats to sagna who I thought was 2nd only to anelka as france's best player 8)

As usual augie, you are right. I would like to see England play with as much pride and passion as the irish lads did this evening. It does not however detract from the enormous sense of joys that I am currently feeling. The irish are a shit side, they are the bolton of international football and the world cup finals will be better without them 8)

Wayno, sorry Mutley, we are only a small country, but we would have had more fans in SA than the French and the finals would be better if we had qualified :barscarf: :barscarf:sorry for shouting,i left my cap lock on [/size]

Get out of here...I would prefer Henry playing in the world cup over Keane anytime....Ireland had enough chances to win it......blame the enept finishing....
Once the dust has settled you will love Henry...you lost ...get over it..

Willie Gallas is our mate......
