we must be the most impatient fans in the world.

we call bendtner a bad striker when he is 21, (and do it since he is 19), and now theo when the boy is only 20. i can see people saying ramsey is not that good and the same to wilshere in 1-2 years. anyone wants to bet? i can see a thread in here. "wilshere is a twat". by the playing mantis.

we are a team who, before wenger, won a trophy every 8-10 years and then after 4 trophieless seasons with the greatest manager in the club's history some already call his head.

damn, we're a bunch of impatient twats.

give the boy some time, will ya?

Radford asks can we really say that this lad is better than defoe? is he close to rooney? will he get more goals than bent or carlton cole.

is he even in the same ball park as ED9 or RVP

for engerlund besides one game he's been crap.

Radford just thinks the lad ain't got it, the odd run every 15 games (usually whn the oppo is knakered) ain't cutting it

Hmm... amazing how facts can be distorted over time.

Again, I do think you're being a little guilty of dismissing the pre-Wenger era as the dark days, when that really isn't the case!

George Graham was a successful manager who won the league in '89 and '91... the FA Cup in '93... the Cup Winners Cup in '94... and the League Cup in '87 and '93. Not bad for a trophy drought, is it?  - and I should add that the cups were all taken seriously back then, so don't dismiss them as mickey mouse, even if they are now.

It was George Graham, a whole decade earlier than Wenger, who brought the barren years of "a trophy every 8-10 years" to an end, so don't dismiss his contribution. In fact, Wengers early success ('97-'98) probably never would have happened without Seaman, Dixon, Winterburn, Adams, Keown, Bould, and Parlour. Wenger had to rebuild the team, and that took 3 more years, but the Double, based in no small part on Grahams players and defensive philosophies, was a nice way to give Wenger time to rebuild without the huge pressure.

I'm not taking anything away from Wenger (why would I?) but people should remember what a great club Arsenal were BEFORE Wenger arrived.

Anyway, I'm sure you didn't mean anything by your post, but don't forget Graham again or there'll be trouble!

Fucking hell BG you have done it again.Arsenal were winning trophies before Wenger arrived. Graham 6 trophies in 8 years Wenger has won 7 trophies in 13 years.Arsenal won trophies before Wenger arrived and will win them when he leaves.

I just have this horrible nagging feeling that Theo is not gonna make the step up in class to be a top player. A shame but the more I see of him the more he reminds me of Tony Daly - a headless chicken running at the corner flag... Hope I'm wrong but have a feeling I'm not... :(

I'd still give him a couple more years. Christ we hung in there for 15 years waiting for Aliadi-useless to be the next great thing... :-P

I would say give him till 24-ish, if he hasn't stepped up to the required standard by that time, then sell him. By then his body should have fully developed and he will either have consistency in his game or never have it.

I have seen improvements, I think that he has very good movement when he drifts inside (not on the outside though), think his crossing has improved, I have seen him in storming form for U21's out wide and along up front. I'll agree he had a dreadful tournament for the U21's but that sums up Walcott, when he is hot he looks so very promising but when out of form/confidence he is poor though still better then he was. You should have seen Lennon for U21's mind before the tournament, he was worse then Walcott during the tournament if that is any comfort

You might think you know something about Wenger Brazilian but you know precious little of Arsenal's history.

What was GG's record ? Two titles, one domestic Cup Double, a European trophy (something Wenger's never managed here or elsewhere) and another League Cup in seven (ish) years.

We've been Champions every decade from the 1930s onwards other than the 60s - our only fallow decade.

As for Walcott, he's ludicrously overhyped by the English media and the fact that he hasn't played 90 minutes of competitive football in 4.1/2 years is frankly shocking. This season was supposed to be his to seize by the scruff of the neck. He has thus far singularly failed so to do and the age factor doesn't apply any more. If you can't perform at 20 there's no rational argument to suggest that one more year is going to make an improvement.

He really needs to get his act together. I certainly hope that Capello won't hesitate to disregard him when the England WC Squad is declared. If that's the reality check his ego needs - so be it.

needs to get his act together? im sorry, i forgot that he intentionally gets injured, yes he really should stop going out on the field and telling the oposition players to go in strong and injure him...
so theo's got an ego now has he? funny that, i thought he is one of the most down to earth players in the league, keeping his feet firmy on the ground, especially at his age where they tend to get carried away (bentley, pennant etc..)
