Exactly what I think - for £5m it was deffo worth a punt irrespective if he does well (or not) and if hes not better than Diaby, Song, or Denilson he would have given us a different oprion.

Now your talking then you can gradually start unloading the usual excuses as the season progresses bad pitches, injuries, fixture congestion, bad refs and rotate them through the season a different one every week, then next May start with the were skint spiel again.... with a bit of the future looks bright spiel, then you'll be a fully fledged tinter

Well there's little doubt he had a major influence on the result yesterday. Still £5m would have blown a hole in our summer transfer profit i.e. we would still have only been c. £20m up.....and that just wouldn't sit nicely into our sustainable business model
The race for fourth starts here. Perhaps West Ham will buy Chamakh next for £3m while we dally around at the African Nations Cup looking for the next 17 year old wonderboy to sign
or we have someone better lined up
