Depressing wasn't the fucking word mate, it was fucking shockingly bad. We must get some drive going into this one and try to dominate from the whistle otherwise we'll get fucked over again. A couple of early goals would be great to settle things down......wishful thinking maybe but lets wait and see I suppose.CEBS_Gooner wrote:I feel that if we exploit the width of the pitch we can have a good chance, and drog is missing as well as fat frank. I was at the Chelsea game on Saturday and as a Season Ticket holder you can guess it was the last place I wanted to be. Let me explain as I feel I need to: My father in law is a Chelsea fan and in the interests of my marraige and the very real prospect of losing my cock to a pair of scissors in the night I was sat in the Matthew Harding Upper at 3pm on Saturday.CEBS_Gooner wrote:I feel that if we exploit the width of the pitch we can have a good chance, and drog is missing as well as fat frank. Chelsea were relentless, once they got hold of that jugular they never let go right up until the final minute. But it was their 'diamond' midfield which was the most interesting to watch. All of their width came from the full backs, which was interesting as Cashley and Belletti went and stood on their opposition full backs when Chelsea were in possesion on their respective sides of the pitch.
This meant that Chelsea were pressing the game to real extremes. When chelsea were attacking up the left for example Terry goes to left back, the whole back four moves across as does the midfield. There are acres and acres on the opposite flank. Wolves had no-one who could get the ball and switch it quickly. That will be the key next week.
There will be opportunities because Chelsea don't fuck about, they get the ball into your box as quickly and as efficiently as possible which means they do lose the ball a lot, but because it is so tight they win it back very quickly. The full back is the out ball every time for our midfielders when they win it back. We will be able to launch attacks with this tactic.
Drogba and Lampard will play, the former 100%. This is my major worry for the game, from set pieces Chelsea will have : Terry, Alex, Drogba & Ballack attacking and defending them. 2 out of the four of these players will be involved in a major mismatch and this could spell trouble.
The positive is that Chelsea have struggled away and played 7 home games to our 5. I will be interested to see Chelsea's team against Porto as I think it will be pretty strong but they have got lucky again with our game being on the Sunday.
All in all we are gonna have to play one hell of a game on Sunday and I just hope it will be they day our 'boys' turn into Men.

I'm confident in this one as it has rarely been our form against the "Big Four" that have let us down. For people who are saying we're out of touch already (not sure if they have on this thread but I mean generally), if we somehow manage to win this and our game in hand (which I'm guessing will be played next in January unless we beat City away) then we have the potential to be 2 points behind the leaders going in to Ferbruary, which is a great position to be in.
I am aware that we have difficult away games to come as well, and I think our season hinges more on these (burnley, liverpool and pompey away) than it does on Sunday's result. Every team has a blip and Chelsea are still to have theres so I'd say lets stay positive.
I am now all the way there to being pigeon-holed as a rosetinter I feel?
