NYC

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Probably about 2000 Irish bars for a start!

I'm sure a quick Google search will answer your question, as I'm sure there's hundreds of places that will have the game on.

Nevada Smith's is pretty good, but rather pricey, quite cramped, and not the most convenient location.

You might want to try www.jackdemseys.com (the bar, not the website). I watched the Arsenal/Newcastle FA Cup match there in January 2008 and really enjoyed. It was quieter, but pretty much everyone got a seat at the bar, and it was just Gooners inside. If you don't want to venture away from Midtown, head to this place. The barman's a Gooner too.

Is it really? I've been to other places in the US, but I've never been interested in going to NYC. It just looks like London, but shit and full of Septics?

Chicago and SF are both excellent cities.

I know you weren't asking me, but hell, it's an open forum. I'd have to say that NYC is far superior to both Chicago and SF (and I've been to each). I'd give Chicago and SF a 6/10, and NYC a 10/10. There's that much difference.

Seriously, go - you won't regret it!

But why? I hate shopping, that's the only thing people seem to say about NYC?

More bars than you could ever imagine possible (including stacks of Irish bars). Most of which are open 24 hours. Cheap beer. Premiership football in the morning (ie. an excuse to drink early).

Dozens of tourist attractions: Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, Rockefeller Centre, Brooklyn Bridge, Chrysler Building, Times Square, Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium... the list goes on. And there's always something to do; it's where the top concerts and shows take place, and there's stacks of sporting events too. Even soccer!

The shopping isn't actually that great tbh. Just go for a weekend, you'll see what all the fuss is about and wonder why you ever bothered going anywhere else!

I made the mistake of going to New York before Chicago and San Francisco, and those two paled in comparison as a result.

I prefer chicago to new york. theres definitely a more relaxed pace about the city. i found NYC to be like london, full of tourists basically.

SF is amazing though, more liberal than anywhere ive been in the western world.

But San Diego is the best place in the US

Fair enough, but what did you do in Chicago and SF? I got really bored and could've done both in two days (each).
