A few drinks at Villa Park next week

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm sure I've been in that RedAction recommended Cap & Gown pub too and it was full of gooners. If that is the one by the mini roundabout and it is nearer the ground than the Yew Tree.

Everyone has to have a first time they go somewhere and at away matches you want to go somewhere that is safe for the travelling fans. If you don't know in advance then you are left with your own sense upon arrival or asking the local police.

TO RILO and gooner mc

what a disappointment. there was i thinking rilo is a saint telling the world he`d share knowledge of all his good places to park even if that meant inconveniencing himself and then it turns out he is in effect offering to share toys that he does not possess.

i gather you are both youngsters - be surprised if your combined age is greater than mine. to give you a clue my 1st game was in 67`.

when you grow up and see a bit more of the world if you are lucky you will discover little treasures - treasures that nobody has recommended- treasures that you may have stumbled across - that you dont wish to share with the whole world - could be a hotel a beach whatever. my pub aint quite that good but the difference is there is nothing i could do to ruin your choice of pub - there is plenty you lot could do to ruin mine ( and i do not mean that i fear you would trash the place.)

anyway it will be good to go to a game. football free weekends from sept- mid-may should be banned

I'm sorry roly, I was under the impression that the hypothetical question you asked me was a hypothetical one. Point remains though, I would tell people who wanted to know, even if that meant it put me out slightly.

Please don't patronise me. I may not be as old as you, but I'm not a kid, so drop the "when you grow up" lark. Here's the funny thing, whenever I discover things, whether it's a good place to eat/drink, or anything else, I tell people. I beleive your attitude is one born purely out of selfishness.
You remind of of people I meet through music, who are such snobs that they would be into a small band for years. Then one day the small band gets a few more fans, start selling a few records and become a bigger band. The fans then decide they don't like the band anymore because it's not "their" band any more.

To be honest with you roly, I have no interest in drinking in your pub. You want to keep it to yourself which I think is childish, but it doesn't bother me that much. I just find the way you have generalised all Arsenal fans into "lager louts" to be out of order. You don't know a thing about any of us, but you have decided that we will ruin your pub. If I happened to find my way into the pub you are in tomorrow, you wouldn't know because I'd just be having a drink and a chat with my friends. I'd like to know what you think it is I would do that would ruin it.

Maybe in future if someone asks for advice on where to drink, and you don't want to share a place, you should just not say anything. Did you expect that answering that question with an insult to every Arsenal fan would go down well and make you look like anything other than a tosser?

exiled in Notts wanted a pub near Villa Park to be recommended.

Rolypoly decided to let us know that he knows a pub that sells great Ale but doesn't want the lager louts in so won't mention it's name. Why comment then in the first place :?:

I don't think this thread needs to go any further :!:

rilo

no i dont think you and your mates would smash up pub . told you lager lout is more a reflection of appalling taste buds than anything else.

definitely i reckon all gooners are a damn sight more civilised and pleasant company than the scum down the road who i understand on sunday rioted at my favourite pub for chelsea games - thats the white horse at parsons green. been going there for years on match days. always packed but great beer - never a problem with the russian lovers whatever the result - hope it aint be ruined for our next visit- hope pub owners dont tar us with the same brush as scum and ban us.

i`m still not going to tell anyone on this website name of pub for tomorrow. lets end this conversation now. its getting real boring

Is that the pub on the corner right near Parson's Green tube? I normally walk to that tube station and pass it although never been in.
