If Vela.........

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Been watching Vela since 2005 and I've got a lot of time for him. It's way too early to be making judgements as to whether he can make it of not in the Premier League, but I've seen enough of him to believe that he could have a major impact if played often enough. My only doubt has always been whether Vela could stand up to the physical side of our game. We'll see.

As for the comparison with Robbie Fowler...... they're nothing like each other in terms of playing style. Vela has more skill and all round game but Fowler is undoubtedly a better and more clinical finisher. 8)

I still dont know how Bendtner has been given more chances than vela. Vela is alot better than he showed last night. He barely gets a run out in the 1st team, the only thing I can put last nights performance to is rustyness but I know he is capable of alot more.... Vela will be world class when he develops!

bendtner has the phsical attributes to succeed in england from a young age. he lacks the technique though.

the opposite is true with vela lacks phsically but has technique. if he adapts and toughnes up to anglo saxon football then he could be a star for arsenal. send him on loan in a tough rough league for a year then see how he is after.
