A second bust of Arsene? (26/10)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A second bust of Arsene? (26/10)

And the answer is:

The creator of Tintin - Georges Remi, otherwise known as Herge

For those of you confused by the clues, Perry Groves’ nickname at the club was Tintin, due to his hair. Perry was George Graham’s first signing.

IT'S FINALLY HAPPENED...

THE GOONER HAS TURNED INTO THE MATCHDAY PROGRAMME :!: :!:

Seriously, it is slightly better than a picture of someone standing on "Arsenal Way" in Central Africa.

Wasn't that guy a racist and facist :?:

blimey. i had no idea. oh well. we've had plenty of pics of jabba the uzbek but that doesn't mean we condone his views.

and i thought it did have a vague resemblance to le boss.

i'll post something a bit more traditional which has just come in to compensate for the disappoitment expressed by our regulars. give me til 2.45.

Personally, I think it's better than endless puns about tits that seem to prevail in other threads.

Remi view's about Africa and colonialism are rather cringe-making (though typical of Belgians in the pre-war period) and his war record is dodgy - see the Shooting Star.

But he stood up for China when it wasn't fashionable to do so (Blue Lotus) and was critical of pre-war fascism (King Ottokar's Sceptre) and post-war communism (Calculus Affair).

So it's a mixed record and it's a bit too simplistic just to tar him as a racist and fascist.

I'm sure you all wanted to know that.

You got all that from the "tintin" series? Jesus, I just looked at the pictures

I would be happy to join any sensible non-tit related discussion you wish to begin Graham :)

That bust seriously looks like Gordon Brown... Poor chaps that have to see his face everyday... but it could be worse ... it could resemble Dubya or his girlfriend Bliar...
