Guus Hiddink Please

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I didn't say anything about the table, I said we are an average club.
We don't really look like we can win anything, virtually all of our players would struggle to get into other top european teams, the clubs investment is below that of clubs of a similar ilk......I'm depressing myself further so will stop there.

Sadly the rosetinters have bought the Wenger bullshit again, because as we all know Arsene knows :banghead: :banghead:
This post gave me nostalgic flashbacks of spending early, early mornings staying up to watch Arsenal and seeing Jens and his wonderful antics in goal. Think it may even have brought a tear to my eye.

Lethal wrote:Well as another premier league challenge dies before the New Year its time to admit wenger has failed.

The worst thing about today was that we all knew it was going to happen, after 30 minutes or so of controlling the game and looking positive all it took was Chelsea to pop a few balls into the box, cause chaos and crash, bang, wallop its 2-0.Today was this team’s ‘moment’, well I think its fair to say the failed spectacularly. I have not heard what wenger has to say and do not want to, I’m sure he will blame the ref and say that he is proud of the team bla bla fucking bla.It does not change the fact that he and his experiment have failed, 5 years after the invincibles,a team full of passengers, kids, and a complete lack of bottle is what we are left with.

The problem starts from the back, to call Almunia a premiership goalkeeper is a complete joke, finally the people who had faith in him previously are now coming to terms with the fact that he is about as much use as a fucking packet of chocolate digestives between the posts. I’m surprised he was out for so long with his chest infection as its rare for him to catch something and keep it for so long.

We can’t defend, a blind man and his dog could see that, but then again who is the incredible arsene wenger to worry about that…lets attack, attack, attack.Gallas will be off in the summer and who can blame him, he is playing with a bunch of drips week in, week out and does not have long left in his career,so why spend it trying to explain to Almunia why it doesn’t make sense to hoof the ball up to the 5’5 Arshavin.

Ahh,Arshavin…4 goals at Anfield, probably the worst thing that could have happened to him, I have not seen him run since ! The lazy gimp has all the talent in the world but is more wrapped up in his own little world then what is important for the club. He will keep his place of course, mainly because the competition for them is so bloody useless.Nasri/Rosicky are both decent players but are just more of the same. Walcott is rubbish, he has no footballing brain and his feet are so fast he often forgets the ball, everytime today he came up against Ashley Cole he bottled it, deciding to check back and deliver another one of his useless lofted crosses to no one.

Denilson offers nothing; he is a passenger who can’t pass, score or tackle and in games like this gets bitched all over the shop. We would be better off playing Ramsey

I can't be bothered going on about anymore of them,it hurts.

And then to the man who has decided these plonkers are good enough to win a premier league, Arsene Wenger, where did it all go wrong? Well when you decided to sell off our best team ever and replace them with a bunch of kids, its not about winning trophies, its about the ‘arsene experiment’.

Well today was the team’s ‘moment’
And they failed.
Damn excellent quote that, I find it all so bloody frustrating yet again. Against formidable opposition it was pretty certain of the outcome. Like I said on this forum and others, A.M. will cost us points. We DO NEED somebody to marshall the midfield and help Nasri/Cesc/ and all.

I think this illustrates we will finish in the top 4, but we are NEVER going to win the PL, unless we buy 2/3 players. Such a damn shame.

Me and my gooner mates could all see this defeat coming. I think it was actually worse than the 4-1 defeat last season.

And finishing second, third or fourth in a Chavski procession is average for our club.

Hiddink do me a favour

Post by topgoon »

I'd sooner have Moyes or Mourinho in reverse order. I think Hiddink's over rated. Getting Chelsea to win the FA cup was the minimum that was required with the players at Chelsea, Grant and Scolari were just hopeless.

A decent spine is what we need, as well as a clearout of shite. The board enjoy what's going on because they expect Champions League football and have come to regard 4th spot as a triumph. Sadly loads of our fans agree with them. I remember sitting through yet another draw at home last season and hoping Villa got the 4th spot over us.

The reason being is I want us to drop out of the champions league so we can stop deluding ourselves that the team has got anything more than Spurs or Villa level dross players.

Top four would mean we lose players who can't be arsed to fight because they are the big fish in our now diminshing talent pond. Yes I do mean Cesc and Arshavin.

I would rather play in the Europa league and out of Europe even, if it meant certain players would leave and we would get fighters to compliment the younger talent that we do undoubtedly have.
United won the league for years with talented youth brought through coupled with tough older players like Bruce,Irwin,Cantona and Keane.

That's what we need, if AW doesn't see that then it's time to thank him and move him gently upstairs.

Mourinho will be free soon from Inter with the way things are going, I would take him any day. I think he would love to do it because he kills 2 birds with one stone. He sticks 2 fingers up at Abramowich by having Arsenal replace Chelsea at the top of the league. Also he'd love to get AW's job and do it better.

I hate losing to Chelsea and I hate going home feeling like shite not for losing but for not competing. My season ticket costs £1300 pounds and not even talking about away costs, this isn't a small outlay. I do it as I have done for years to watch my team play and fight. They are allowed the odd off day but the fight must be there.
I also don't pay that kind of money to watch Eboue fall over, see two fullbacks who after all this time still haven't figured out how to cross the ball into the box and definitely not to watch Walcott. He is average, pace does not mean fuck all if you only get past the first defender once every 6 runs.

I can't wait to see Stoke's big boys being all over our short misfiring strikers this weekend. We lose at home to Stoke this weekend will it be time for the board to call time, off course not. They are looking forward to the money from the group stages and the knockout rounds of the champs league.
Sad thing is we'll probably win and maybe make some ground on the top teams in the league which will get us back to being deluded. :banghead: :banghead:

Amazing loyalty folks! Do you not remember Bruce Rioch? or even GG's later days?

Yes we all want to win the title and the champions league, but it's not our divine right. Arsene Wenger has made this club what it is today and without him I dread to think where we would be. He has done an amazing job with limited resources and any other team in the country would jump if they had the chance to get him. It makes me ashamed to be a gooner when people come out with shit like "lets get david moyes" Seriously, are you retarded? Everton are doing wonderful at the moment aren't they? He will need a new trophy cabinet soon with all the sucess he's having.

All I can say is: Be careful what you wish for!

Bruce Rioch? There's not much difference. Pretty football aside, Rioch got us into Europe, as does Wenger. Rioch won nothing and the Wenger of the last 5 years has won nothing and won't do with this poor excuse for a top PL team.
The problem at Arsenal is Arsene Wenger - improved contracts and 50k plus a week for average players like Song, the tactical nouse of a fly, lies, lies, lies and still he'll go and sign an under 23 player who's 5 feet nothing and weighs 9 stone. Wenger has had so much time to build this team it's a farce and the fans are the mugs who are paying a small fortune to keep the likes of Eboue, Denilson, Diaby et al in luxury. I want to see Wenger move upstairs at the end of the season or go, we CANNOT let this man run the club the way he is now - ie: totally based on saving money. Economics is one of Arsenes strengths.......tactics and man management are not.

The issue is wenger for all his qualities has serious blind spots. I mean while our deffence has looked better it still has not been quality. I mean we have had only 2 clean sheets all season i think. Also their is a real lack of a plan B. Its great having all these small technically brillaint players but if thats fialing then what can we do next. We just end up passing. I would personally give Wenger another full year but he needs more pressure put on him to get results.
