New tower block opposite the Armoury

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

New tower block opposite the Armoury

Post by potters_b »

A planning application has been lodged with Islington Council for a 25 storey tower block for student accommodation. It will be sited opposite the armoury, where the old scaffolding yard is on the corner, between the railway bridge and the University building. In addition a new walkway will be created alongside the railway, going to Holloway Road, giving a slightly new route to the ground from Holloway. Here is drawing of the proposed building in relation to the stadium.

It looks a little like an erect chocolate log with sweetcorn bits in it. :( Who knew No.5 was actually an architect?! :?

Interesting :?

How comes the height restrictions which added millions onto the development cost of AG don't apply to a fucking shitty tower block? :?

Also, the picture makes it look like people living in the top few floors of the building will be able to peer out of the window and watch Arsenal games for free....

Couldnt Arsenal FC complain to the council about the flats blocking the sunlight from their home ? Just like the moaning twats who live around highbury did. :banghead: :banghead:
