what you blabbling on about now ,most premeirleague centre backs are physical and strong i posted that wenger mustnt rate vela is he had no other strikers fit so he chose to put a 5'4 attacking midfileder up front instead ,i never questioned weather vela would make it or notMagic Hat wrote:So your saying a 20 year old who is probably not best for one type of opponent can't make it? Not like 20 year footballers bodies grow and toughen up do they?

To be fair pal it is only wenger that thinks arshavin is a midfielder cos the world and its mother knows he is a striker in the Bergkamp role
True, but to be fair to Wenger, even Bergkamp wouldn't be utilised as a lone striker like Arshavin yesterday!augie wrote: To be fair pal it is only wenger that thinks arshavin is a midfielder cos the world and its mother knows he is a striker in the Bergkamp role

Anyway, I know the little Russian played well, but it was at HOME VS. STOKE... lets see how he does at Anfield and Turf Moor next week

PS - That said, if Bendtner had missed 2 1-on-1's like Arshavin (as well as the one when he was through on goal, and somehow kicked it out for a THROWING!

spot on, mate. arshavin finishing was the worst i saw in a while. he is NOT a central striker, he is trequartista like bergkamp and baggio, he must come from behind. that's how he scored 4 at anfield, not as the central striker.g88ner wrote:True, but to be fair to Wenger, even Bergkamp wouldn't be utilised as a lone striker like Arshavin yesterday!augie wrote: To be fair pal it is only wenger that thinks arshavin is a midfielder cos the world and its mother knows he is a striker in the Bergkamp role(well, he was in the 2005 FA Cup Final and look what happened.... luckiest, all out defence victory, in history!!!

) the crowd would be well on his back! so although he played well (against Stoke) his finishing was mostly woeful.
we do miss nic.

Most attempt tackles while the ball is on the pitchPal Lydersen wrote: what you blabbling on about now ,most premeirleague centre backs are physical and strong i posted that wenger mustnt rate vela is he had no other strikers fit so he chose to put a 5'4 attacking midfileder up front instead ,i never questioned weather vela would make it or not

and Arshavin is an experienced player and a stronger one who can play in midfield or attack.
his finishing might have been erratic but i thought that he showed a master class in movement and running, he was onside pretty much 100% percent of the time by bending his run, and having the understanding of when the ball would likelty be passed
man city should get greedy to watch a video of that game, because i think straying offside gives the lesser team possesion and breaks up the play its more valuable than them kicking and tripng us in midfield

however, it's no use being onside and having great movement if you miss some sitters like arshavin did.
nic's finishing isn't great, but he would've scored at least a couple, i think.

His finishing was erratic on Sat but everyone knows he can be just as clinical.RNTGOONER wrote:his finishing might have been erratic but i thought that he showed a master class in movement and running, he was onside pretty much 100% percent of the time by bending his run, and having the understanding of when the ball would likelty be passed

At the moment the options are Arshavin, Eduardo (if fit), Vela and Walcott if he returns for Sat, there is no other alternative but to play Arshavin there for a few weeks, hopefully he will score a few then Wenger can take pride in "converting him to a striker" then he might leave him there because his vision put him there (even though most have wanted him to pl;ay as a second striker since he came)
