As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I never liked Charlie Nicholas much at the time, I was about seven and thought that any man with long hair and an earring was like 'a big girl'.
His look also reminded me of the toyboy of this woman who lived down my street, who enjoyed revving his car at 1000 decibells and driving down a side street at 40 MPH.
I much preferred Tony Woodcock who scored more often than Charlie Nick and a much sensible hair cut (although the reverse is true today)

I was there First time the scousers had ever lost a game in which Rush had scored.

Of course times were so dark we couldn't even celebrate reaching the 1st round of the UEFA Cup, either before of after that ban.

After Rush had scored I walked outside and sulked in the garden, because of that 'Rush scores Liverpool never lose' thing. I missed Charlie's equaliser and didn't get to see it fully for another ten years.
It was the only thing of note Charlie done under George though, injury and personality clashes meant that his chances were limited.
Anyone else remember that time he nearly signed for Celtic in 1987 and TVAM's news had reported it as so, however he had actually signed a new contract with Arsenal, which was covered by the Daily Mirror. It shows you how slow the media worked back then for TV news to be slower than a newspaper.

On what do you base that opinion on? Liverpool have enjoyed greater European success, 2 Champions League final appearances in three years, winning it once far outweighs winning the UEFA cup back to back. That is before you go back and look at Liverpools past success in Europes premier tournament. They have finished 3rd in the Premier League for the past 2 seasons, that is better than a fourth place finish in La Liga and they have a manager
In my opinion I would suggest Liverpool are now and have always been a better team than Sevilla.
