By the way leftfoot I personally wouldnt give a fcuk if it was my brother in law or my brother who was captain of the golf club cos I would kick up a fcuking stink anyway Fact is they have got their years membership paid in full by this 3rd party who you are now paying back in installments but that is of no relevance to them. In my opinion they either return 3 months membership (although obviously not to you) or honour your initial 12 month subscription/contract but one way or another you cannot be asked to pay for a service that they are no longer providing to you

I could read through your membership terms if you have them as there should really be something in there stopping this sort of situation arising, although clubs usually cover themselves with some catch-all clause saying they reserve the right to change their rules, fuck over their members etc etc.

To everyone who offered advice, a sincere thanks and augie thanks for advie and i really don't get on that well with my brother-in-law and would gladly kick up a massive fuss but i love my sister and have to refrain.
I would suggest there is probably a brief line in the T&C stating the T&C of the agreement can be amended if a certain umber of members agree.
I would also suggest that the clubs rules and regulations has this covered. The fact they asked for and got 200 members to participate should bear this out.
Does no-one else find the '3rd party' situation both strange and suspicious? I've never heard of paying for golf membership through a third party before, personally I think there's more to this than is being let on. I can't believe any reputable golf club would attempt to do what is being said?

The third party in some clubs in Ireland is the Bank, usually a local Bank. They will have an agreement with the club to pay your entry fee or sub. Normally the Manager would be a member of the club

My golf club (or the golf club i once belonged to) use "fairway golf" who are a lease comapny if you like, they pay up front to the golf club and then direct debit me.
This is exactly the same as i sell security systems to schools, pubs, ofifice blocks etc, i use a lease company who pay me up front for the whole system but the company who bought the system pay the lease company on a monthly basis over a set period.
Edit: there is always one who lets the side down, teecee grab your prize, its a wooden spoon.
I used to work for a finance company, and the one thing that would always get people would be the extended warranty type things. The dealer would package this on top of the car finance say over 4 years. As a company we would have paid all this off in one hit. Then after 3 years the dude would sell the car and imagine he could be let out of the final year of the extended warranty. Didn't work like that. They always had to pay that final year even though they didn't even have the car anymore.
I would imangine as your 3rd party has paid the club all the fee's you are tied into them no matter what until they get their money back and if it is any type of finance agreement you have with them regulated under the consumer credit act if you pull out without their consent it'll fuck your credit rating up. Don't do it. That shit can really bollocks you and take a while to repair.
The dispute you have is with the golf club.
What I would do is rock up for a game one day and somehow put in the worst performance of my life. Tear up the greens, don't replace your divots and this one will fucking make it all worth it...........

Yeah the 4 iron suggestion is making more sense every day
No i haven't broken any terms and still have 4 months of direct debit to come out yet am being tlod unless i cough up an extra £450 + £50 bar levy i can't play.
There is another golf club about 3 miles further away on the same road that is giving a special offer to our members who want t leave our club and move to theirs so it would be better for me to join that club if i want to fork out again for golf but that equates to my once a week or once a fortnight golf costing £50 a game, i doubt that many people would agree to that being value for money.
