BT wrote:I thought he had a good game today. Admittedly he hasn't recaptured the form of his first season - i think maybe the death of his brother had something to do with it, and the 4-3-3 leaving him more exposed - but he is a natural defender, unlike eboue, and i would pick him over eboue any day of the week. His crossing needs vast improvement but he has something like 3 assists this season i think.
He had 3 assists in a game if I remember correctly

For me, I will only sell him if we receive 20M pounds. I think he is still one of the right defender in the league. Very solid and consistent in most games, though he needs to improve his cross. Who doesn't need to in our team?!! We can't cross a proper ball :banghead:

Your making yourself look more stupid with every post.
I'm assuming as you appear to know everything, you have seen Altintop play RB

No i havent seen him play right back, i assume that you have. However i have seen nearly everyone of sagna's in an arsenal shirt and know that every premier league side would have him starting in their first team.

Give me sagna over bosingwa, brown, johnson, neville, rafael, dossena every fucking day of the week.

We have a proven quality right back and is near impossible to replace with our financial strength. If a bid of 20mil come in im 100% sure wenger would laugh and say fuck off.

Sagna is the best right back in the league imo. He defends very well, he's strong, and I think he crosses the ball very well, he's almost never injured ... so there's no point selling him.

good goalkeepers and good fullbacks are an extinct race. we are blessed to have clichy and sagna, they are above average when compared to top european teams' fullbacks.

sagna is defensively excelent, offensively decent. we have enough brilliantly creative players, so that's not an issue. i say keep the man, whatever the price.

If a domestic rival offered 20 million in Jan? No. Someone abroad like Juve? I would be tempted. Sagna is the best rightback in the EPL, true he hasn't hit the heights of the first season but we are going through a period of not very good rightbacks across the world. That may change in five or so years but for now, we aren't going to get much better then Sagna

I don't think Eboue would match up so if we sold Sagna, we would have to replace him. The issue I have with that is that we have area's we need to address first and have cash so we don't need to sell Sagna, would rather we concentrated on buying in certain area's rather then spend the month looking for a new fullback

Keep Sagna.

When it comes to former Arsenal players we could still have
Lehmann
Lauren
Upson
Cole
Gilberto
Flamini
Pires
Diarra
Sidwell
Henry
Lauren
Anelka
Campbell

It would make a team that would probably be fighting against relegation!!!

sell sagna. he can't even cross a ball properly, which is the minimum you expect from a fullback

No, the minimum you expect from a full-back is that they defend properly. Anything is should be seen as a bonus. We have other players whose responsibility is to be creative.

bollocks. you say that only because we have a bunch of midgets in the attack. if we had a true striker like anelka you'd understand how important it is to have a fullback who can cross

Thats rubbish, sagna is a defender first. We have wingers that are judged on their ability to cross a ball.

Now your being stupid, would you rather have a johnson style fullback that is great going forward however and absoulute liability at the back, or a sagna style fullback great defensivily and okay going forward.

We have more than enough creativity in our side to allow us to have great quick defensivly great fullback's.
