As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Scored two goals in U17 south American championships, the third against Peru and the second against Bolivia. Sub in the world cup as Brazil crashed out in group stage, his freekick was spilled in by Kamita in injury time to beat Japan, missed Brazil's best chance as they lost to Mexico. Does have a big reputation, be intresting to see how he is in 2011
Realistically its going to take 10 years for him to reach his peak Having great youth players is all well and good but we need to sort out the 1st team before we improve our already immense young players.
I saw this in the good old Daily Mail this morning.
I can see why Arsenal make so much effort to sign promising kids but I just can't get excited about it. How many 17 year old "superstars" go on to be 25 year old genuine superstars??? I can only think of Cesc (in 3 years time) and Wayne "Fat Bastard" Rooney in recent years.
We've had -
Quincy Owusu
Arturo Lupoli
Jerome Thomas
David Bentley
Jermaine Pennant
Jeremie Aliadiere
Juan
Ryan Garry
Ryan Smith
Anthony Stokes
Amaury Bischoff
Rui Fonte
All talented teenagers but none of whom were ever going to set the world alight. Apart from Pennant when he smashed into a lamp-post!
I would prefer to see Arsene concentrate on nicking a bargain in the 23 - 28 year old range as Vermaelen and Arshavin show just how much of a difference quality can make to a side already packed with potential.

Right on the money ! All the above list were supposed to be 'the future of football' but if they are, it's far away from London N5.
great prospect. i'm glad we signed him. he scored a few blinders here in brazil.
if he doesn't make it at arsenal, just like the other ones you are referring to, he'll at least be sold for a higher price, bringing us profits to help us pay for our stadium debt and hopefully sign someone in the future
complain if you wish about us not signing experienced players (and i'll agree with you), but using this emoticon because we signed a promising player is stupid and nonsense.
