The Official Attendance v Everton ...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That was ridiculous. I could have probably counted 1000 empty seats from where I was, if I could really be arsed.

attendances

Yet the Everton game sold out very quickly, and there weren't that many TX tickets. Can't really understand why if you weren't coming to the game you wouldn't try to resell your seat.

On a slightly different point, not sure why TX closes so early in week , I didn't know I could get to the game till Friday, by which time the exchange had closed.

The attendance figure is obviously the number of tickets sold, perhaps this should be pointed out to the media by the Club. It's not only Arsenal who do this its a method widely used.

Don't know why they feel the need to announce the attendance to the attendees anyway. Save a lot of ridicule if they just didn't.

That's true. But the problem with that is that it assumes Arsenal tell the truth  In extremis - the whole stadium could be empty and the attendence would still be 60,030 or whatever.

What makes me suspicious is that Club Level is supposed to be all Season Ticket. It isn't as anyone can see by the number of paper tickets issued on a match by match basis. Even then, there are still plenty of Club Level gaps.

Given that, I do wonder if the gaps in the Upper and Lower tiers, really are people who simply can't be bothered to show or not ?

remember as well there are always a couple of thousand irish gooners at the game and with all the flights cancelled people had no way of getting rid of there tickets.

Not sure if it's still the same but if you put a ticket on the TX, last season you had to do it more than 2 weeks before the match. I bet a lot of people didn't bother going because of the weather and made the decision late on.

officila attendance v everton

Post by georgeknows89 »

The club have always said via Amanda Doherty that the attendance is tickets sold not attended.

As long as we got the money for 60,030 who gives a damn what they announce and why ?

Club level likewise- if pople paid and dont use and dont give away then as long as we banked their dosh i don't care.

Then surely the announcer can say the official amount of tickets sold for todays game is 60,053 not the attendence.
