I am pleased some people have taken the time to reply to my post.
I am neither a reosetinter nor the other thing, but there is so much going on in this forum that makes me question why people bother?
The replies were excellent and many countered what I said, but in the end, yesterday we froze our butts off to watch a very tough game of football, we do not have the devine right to turn up expecting 4 goals and a smashing of a team who on paper are not fit to lace the Arsenal boots, BUT Everton came, they saw and they almost conquered, and if Moyes had been offered a point at kick off with all that snow falling....he would have taken it.
My complaint is simple, yes we are all entitled to our opinions and just because you were or were not at the game does not make you any lesser or more of a Gooner than the next person, but when people openly criticise the team having NOT watched the game then i really have to say something, you have to watch something before you can judge anything. It annoys me because yesterday i think we EARNED a well fought hard point, in days gone by we would have lost that match.

This was a game we needed to win and should have won but that word consistency crops up again. We didn't spread the ball but kept to close knit passing which allowed Everton to close us down. Our movement was non existent and having denilson as D/M exposed our back 4 and again showed he's to lightweight for the role.
Our midfield didn't impose itself and there was too much SLOPPY passing, not enough vision and this baffles me....we have Arshavin at 5ft4 at the front yet still put in crosses he's never going to win!!!!!!.Traore was poor but as i said before he wasn't helped by Denilson or left midfield.Almunia didn't have a bad game and saved a third goal but should have done a lot better for there 2nd.
These are the same players over the past few weeks we have praised and said how much there have improved but again FAILED to produce the goods when needed.I expected us to win,not by a landslide but by 2-0,even though Everton are on the way up from there early debacle but this game has highlighted again the need to buy.WE let a chance go because of ourselves not the opposition, fuck what the pundits and everton think we should have won but 2007/08 seems to be returning.

I not saying it does Sammy but with manure and chavski keep dropping points these are games we need to win to put pressure on them and regardless of the weather(poor excuse in IMO) we should have won.
Wenger has refused to buy as he believes these players will produce trophies and yesterday was a game to prove it and it makes me cry that it didn't happen. We let Everton take control of the midfield and we didn't take advantage of the extra man as Everton kept 2 men on AA.
Unlike 2007/08 we have no pressure as we not considered contenders anymore and after the 4 games end of Jan/Feb we have a fucking good run in.We can only give ourselves a chance if we win these type of games and to do this we must have a squad which, like manure and chavski, get a result. This is why i pointed out consistency,we played well against Hull, pompey and villa but struggled against whu and yesterday.

Usual bollocks when we dont win, it was a point gained in the end in awful conditions against a very good side - without their injuries i think they would be top 4 contenders, not so long ago they outplayed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Every team will drop points before the end of the season, we are efefctively in this title race with our hands behind our back due to our injuries. But, who knows how important that point will be come May.
We would have lost that game last season, there is a resiliance in this squad.

I agree with the part in bold!! Come on BDB, I do like you and I'm all for people coming on here and trying to defend a poor performance by looking on the positive side, but if you're going to use an example please use a good one. Everton did not outplay Chelsea. They had only 4 attempts at goal all match (I think 2 on target); two of their four goals were extremely lucky (i.e. own goal and one headed onto the back of Saha); the Chavs missed countless chances and it was Everton that were in fact throughly out-played for the majority of the match and fortunate to get a point.Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote: Usual bollocks when we dont win, it was a point gained in the end in awful conditions against a very good side - without their injuries i think they would be top 4 contenders, not so long ago they outplayed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Yes, given the below par performance of our team, the above par one of Everton and the fact we were trailing into injury time, nicking a point from an away side that played well is one of those positives. However, there's no need to embellish that with stuff that just isn't true.
When they have all their players fit are Everton a force to be reckoned with? Most certainly yes. But that wasn't anywhere near their full-strength team and they even had both their regular centre-backs missing. Yet what did we create? Just a tiny amount above the square root of fuck all!!! Apart from missing an opportunity to get nearer the top, that, as much as anything, was the biggest disappointment of yesterday.

Maybe i went a bit too far saying they outplayed them, but they caused them all sorts of problems and could have won.
We are missing Clichy (and our second choice LB Gibbs), Song, Fabregas, Van Persie and Bendtner at the moment - all key players for us and players that would have made a difference yesterday. Any club with that injury list would suffer, yet we remain 3 of the top, so we cant be that bad a team can we? Once those players come back and we hit the big games, thats where we will see how good / bad we are.
As for yesterday, as i said, it was not a bad point at all, 2 points dropped at home is never good, but you cant win every game - as i said, their is a mental toughness in the squad not to lose, and that will only help us.
PS - we are also missing Walcott, but as he doesnt really add anything to us i neglected to include him!!

I agree that it's a good point for us. I also agree that we are missing some players. However, a team will not win a title if a goal-keeper is so shit (Bacar was the only exceptional I guess). Al was ok in the last few games until yesterday because he was not really under-pressure in the last couple of games. But when he was under pressure yesterday, he just produced a lot of mistakes. We are going to play some tough matches in Jan/Feb which I believe it's crucial for the title, so AL can't be reliable for the big games, please Fuck off now. I can only remember his performance was brilliant against the ManU last season in the 1st leg of CL. This guy will cause us points in big games. How many stupid mistakes did he make yesterday?Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:I Hate Hleb wrote:I agree with the part in bold!! P.S. Everyone said that AL made a good save to the third goal. Yes credits to him! But when I watch the highlights again and again, isn't it the shoot was somewhere in the middle. I think it's a good save, but I believe any average goalie could have done it, isn't it
