trains from country to country?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

help! ive googled it, and cant seem to finsd info on how much and long it would be from Madrid to Porto by train! or Vigo or santiago de compostela to Porto! raileurope.co.uk says not availble or too late or something :-s

This is how to do it the other way..... It says it takes 12 hours.... there's also a number to call.. (I don't know whether it helps you...) :?

www.bahn.de is also a very good website for european rail, much better than rail europe.

The Spanish equivilant of National Rail is http://www.renfe.es/index.html although only in spanish, not too difficult to work out what to do!

do you really want to travel via train?

from madrid to port, i assume a flight would be much easier!

Have you seen the prices of the flights to Porto?

Hiring a car to get from Madrid to Porto maybe cheaper, especially if there is more than one of you going

30-50 €, train isn't cheaper i think

When I was in Spain flying from Madrid to Barcelona was much much cheaper than the train. I'd look at flights first.

Also you could look on gumtree, there are often people driving trips like that looking for people to share the driving and cost of petrol.
