this truly immense news has forced my return, at leasdt briefly on here.
Its a fantastic signing, hilariously funny for a start, and its a no lose situation. hes on a short term pay as play deal and can do a job agianst long ball sides.
hes not going to play every game, and when we dont win the cl or league it wont be his fault as he wont play that much.
Sol is a least as good as our current fit reserve CB's and cheaper.
For all those saying its a mistake, get a few things fixed in your head:... AW would not have spent money on a CB in Jnauary. He also will not sign a top class one as that would mean dropping tv or WG (unless he leaves in summer) as they would all want to be 1st choice.
Given the option of signing Sol or no one in the CB position in january, then i think we d all prefer to have somethiong rather than nothing, so as we all know AW wouldnt have signed anyone else in this position, its not a bad move and a win win situation.
if hes shit, so be it, hes gone in the summer and wouldnt have been worse than tweety or the crunt senderos, if hes ok brilliant, we have a cheap legend whos helping us out for a bit.
Also there is a lot of crap on here critiscing sol for leaving us in the lurch. He had pschological issues at the time that he couldnt control, you should feel for him not moan or take the P.
this guy is a true arsenal legend, for the fact he left the scum for us and broke so many of there hearts alone, not to mention the trophies he won here and was an INVINCIBLE.

Firstly.. Anyone, that is the Spurs captain.. then joins us for FUCK ALL, then wins 2 premier league titles with us and spends the season being an INVINCIBLE.. is and ABSOLUTE LEGEND. I'd re-sign him when he is 80 years old just to let that scum down the lane have it..
YIDO'S WHERES YOUR CAPTAIN GONE?
DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE, SOL CAMPBELL HAS WON THE DOUBLE, AND THE SCUM FROM THE LANE, HAVE WON FUCK ALL AGAIN, SOL CAMPBELL HAS WON THE DOUBLE.
Now for a more level headed response. Sol is old, but Wenger has seen him in training for a good 2 months now, and it is quite clear that he obviously phsyically is still up for it. How can you knock a bit of winning mentality, a bit of an old head, a bit of help for the younger players in the squad, this is quite clearly a stop gap until Djourou is fit, and in my opinion is a great move. Remember in our title winning season in 01-02 a certain Mr Tony Adams at 35 years old played 13 matches that season.. experience can be key for us.
You never know, a sale of Senderos may be used for a new striker, I.E Lacina Troare or a simular deal.

Not so bizarre digger, I know where you're coming from on that, TH was just past his peak when he left for the barca slags, but just to see him wear an Arsenal shirt again (btw that means theo would have to be sold - let go as TH nly ever wears No 14!) would be Brilliant...and just to chant his name a few more times,,also although he IS past his best he can still leave most prem defenders eating dust.....digger wrote:Bizarrely, I'd hate to see Henry back. We had his very best years, he's nowhere near that level anymore.

I agree with you Digger, I wouldn't want to see him back either, his last season at The Arsenal was terrible, everything had to go through him, the posturing, pouting.... I think, even though he's a legend, he left at the right time imo.digger wrote:Bizarrely, I'd hate to see Henry back. We had his very best years, he's nowhere near that level anymore.

Some of you have not been watching TH's recent performances for Barcelona - obviously. More to the point of this thread - and to prevent it being hijacked by the anti-Thierry brigade I have one thing to say - Sol's a Gooner doo doo doo doo - welcome back Sol to The Home of Football! (well, maybe 2 things)
