I thought Almunia was at least partially to blame for both of their goals. I imagine Jens will be making that point forcefully to the boss!
im blue in the face from saying we need a strong number 1 goalkeeper
for all jens maddness he's still a better keeper then almunia.. just hope it wont cost us towards the end of the season

I agree 100% - I was extremely pissed off about Almunia's role in conceding both goals. I and others had said in the build-up that there was a chance Almunia's deficiencies would be the difference between two evenly matched sides, and so they almost were. In effect, we were playing with a handicap, having him in goal.
Yet again, he let one in at the near post for the first - yes, it was a tough one to save, given the ricochet off Gallas, but I think Lehmann would have got it. And what the fuck was Almunia doing coming out for the second?? Bloody basic. I hate everything he's been saying in the press, but get the mad German back in, now.
As for the rest of the game, rebel's first post covers most of it for me. I thought a draw was a fair result. I don't think we ever really dominated United but they didn't have the edge over us either. He might have been a dickhead but I thought Anderson played very well and was pleased when he was subbed (though Carrick also did well in his place). On our side, Hleb, Toure and Gallas were the picks. Clichy, Cesc, Rosicky, Eboue and Sagna were patchy but did enough, Ade was just about ok and Flamini (as at Liverpool) poor.
The game and the result underlined that if we're going to achieve anything this season, it's going to be a real slog. Not a bad thing for the youngsters to realise. Chelsea are definitely on a roll now, and beating them next month would be very useful. We came into the Liverpool and United games with plenty of questions to answer, and we've answered most of them, though I still maintain that we should have beaten Liverpool, so that was 2 points lost. But the players have shown they have the ability and the bottle to compete this year.
