barcelona again

Post by nuttygoonerpaul »

 BARCELONA are piling the pressure on Arsenal as they plan a £40million summer capture of Cesc Fabregas.
The Catalan giants vice-president Alfons Godall last night insisted the Gunners skipper will end up at the Nou Camp.

He said: "Sooner or later Cesc will end up coming back. We are a club that can sign players because we are respected and solvent."

The European champions have made no secret of the fact they want to recapture Fabregas, who left the club when he was 16.

Godall is one of the two main candidates for the June 13 presidential election and is the favourite to succeed Joan Laporta.

The other main candidate, Sandro Rossell, is also a huge fan of Fabregas.

However, Barca's bitter rivals Real Madrid are keen to land the 22-year-old midfielder as well.

lol if ronaldo went for 80m i think we would need at least a matched offer.

although with the way arsene sees money 40m would probably be too good to turn down :banghead:

If he goes then good luck to him, there can be no complaints, he owes Wenger a lot but he doesn't owe him everything.

If I was Fabregas I'd be asking when the next flight was. I'd be gutted to lose him but given the choice who would you rather line up alongside? Eboue, Denilson & Diaby or Messi, Xavi and Iniesta? Not exactly a tough choice is it!
Fabregas is by far our best player and his personal ambition has to take priority over any loyalty to Arsenal or Wenger. At the end of his career he is going to want to look back on the highs, the medals he won and the great teams he played in. He isn't going to do much of that if he stays at Arsenal.
I really don't want him to go but would totally understand if he did and would not hold it against him. As for the figure? I'll bet he goes for as little as £25-30m. It will be a crime if he does but don't be surprised.

Him leaving will be the turning point for Wenger here, everyone has seen this situation coming and he has continued to ignore it by sticking with his collection of Average Al's and Dire Denilson's.

Those that want Wenger out will get their wish when Cesc is sold, I'm sure of it.

So true, should Cesc be sold I think alot of fans will lose it, I know I will.
Selling our best players is becoming a cycle and I for one cant take that shit especially when I know we will not reinvest properly.
The fact is why should Cesc go because of his ambition, it should be shit like Denilson e.t.c because of the clubs ambition but NOOO!! :banghead: :banghead:

Just talking about it makes my blood boil.

Anyone who thinks that we will get anywhere close to £80 million for Fabregas is either deluded or being force fed skunk by IHH!

The simple fact is Cesc will go there at some point and my only hope is that when he does we get the going rate for him and he doesn't just wind down his contract. Personally, if we was to flog Cesc with 2 years left on a contract for £30 million I would think that was fair.

The fact that he will only go to Barca means that we will not be able to demand a high fee - and both clubs know it

But if Real Madrid come in for him also, that fee could rise if both clubs get in a bidding war for him. :?

Edit... Let's face it, it really wouldn't matter how much money we got for him, we wouldn't bleeding spend it anyway... :banghead:

Real Madrid coming in for him wouldn't bump up the price because everyone knows he will never sign for them.

Rosetinted spec wearers will say that Arsene brought him to the club for nowt, got 6 bloody good years out of him and if he is sold for £40million it will be a brilliant piece of business.

Realists (me!) will agree with the above but add ---------- why the f**k can't Arsenal hold onto our best players anymore?? :banghead: :banghead:

It started with Brady in the early 80's and has gathered pace recently with our Invincibles being flogged off and replaced with Eboue, Denilson, Walcott and Bender.

Wasn't the point of the new stadium to allow us to compete with Europe's elite?? If that's the case - why aren't we putting in bids for their stars and unsettling them??

Who can blame him, theyre his boyhood club, he came here to further his football career. Barce are one of the 2 best teams in the world, winning trophy after trophy every season, albeit in a slightly more average league than ours. I think this summer holds the biggest chance yet of him going, I dont want it to happen but wengers selfish blind faith and excuse making has caused it.
