Wenger has took an awful lot of stick this week, the amount of negative threads is getting silly...thought it was time to have a look at what he has actually done for us...i have highlighted but a few of them! lay off the bloke... he is a genius and all the while he wants to be at Arsenal im happy to have him!

Wenger has took an awful lot of stick this week, the amount of negative threads is getting silly...thought it was time to have a look at what he has actually done for us...i have highlighted but a few of them! lay off the bloke... he is a genius and all the while he wants to be at Arsenal im happy to have him!

He can't dine out on the past, indefinitely. And we are told we have 30 million to spend which sould have been invested to strengthen the current squad.
No one is denying Wenger's achievements, albeit in the past. Since then no one can deny that he has got so much wrong and made so many mistakes. And failed to address the glaringly obvious.

True, but there's a chasm now between us and them and I can't see that getting any closer. We got to a point and stood still with our progression.

True, but there's a chasm now between us and them and I can't see that getting any closer. We got to a point and stood still with our progression.

Agreed with your points, we have a lot to be thankful to Wenger for, but we should be pushing on and striving to improve, and I haven't seen that in the last 3 seasons.

I dont think there is actually that much of a gap...not to the extent people are making out, yes Chelsea and United both beat us easily last time we played them but over the course of the season that would mean nothing if we went on a smashed everyone else in the league, we would be champions.

I do know what you mean, but as it stands we are not very far off the leaders, if we get a draw at Chelsea im still confident we have a great chance of winning it, after Liverpool our games get a lot easier where as the other two have to play each other and some other tricky game where points will be dropped, take last nights game.

You must relise that the premiership was a different ball game when wenger first joined, it was easier for him to go and pick up all the great young tallent for next to no money. There were no mega signings in the premiership.

The game has moved on in england, mid table teams are now spending money bringing in world class players. If you would of said that man city would spend 35 mil on one player when wenger first joined you would of been called insane.

Wenger needs to move with the times, his project has failed. He tried to prove he could win things with no money and it hasnt worked. He keeps telling us every window that he can buy a 30 mil player but always sticks to his failing plan trying to prove the world of football wrong.


Wenger has been our best ever manager but there is always a time when things have to come to an end. I dont think the time has come yet, but things do need to change. The board need to take some power back off wenger, they need to set him targets, not wenger setting his own targets. He needs a new coaching team that will challenge him and tell him when they think he is wrong.

Doubt if you will find an Arsenal fan anywhere in the world that doesnt appreciate what he has done for the club however just like GG he has a shelflife and it appears that has now expired and that cannot be clouded by his past acheivements.

Just on the whole morality of the club point I would suggest that fleecing the fans on ticket prices while selling off players and not properly replacing them might be dubious but the real point I would like to ask is how a manager under contract can meet with another club (real madrid) to discuss becoming their manager and still be classed as committed and honourable

We have a lot to be thankful to Bergkamp for. And Henry. And Vieira. And Bobby. And TA6. And while we’re at it, Brady. And Drake. And Bastin. And O’Leary even. And Bould. And a hundred and one others. How many of those would you want in our current first team though? I'm pretty sure you yourself said you were against Paddy returning cos no matter what he achieved for us in the past he wasn’t up to it anymore.

Why should Wenger be any different? If he’s still up to the task then fair enough. But his past achievements only count for so much in that regard. Wenger was ruthless enough to get rid of great players at the right time once they were past their best, cos it was in the best interests of the team and the club. A man of his principles should understand the same should apply for him.

I completely agree with swale, fantastic post!
I do see what PI7ES means though. Wenger has far too much power as a manager over the club. He should be given targets by the club and get a coaching team which are not afraid to tell him he is wrong!
