Chamakh wants Arsenal move

Post by projoe »

Marouane Chamakh has revealed that he wants to move to England this summer when he becomes a free agent, and has stated Arsenal are the club he wants to sign for.

A host of teams have been chasing the highly-rated Moroccan international, who is out-of-contract at Bordeaux in the summer, but he has now revealed he wants to sign for The Gunners.

Arsenal tried to sign the 26-year-old last summer but could not agree terms, but Arsene Wenger has retained his interest.

However, in recent times Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Everton and Sunderland have all made contact with Chamakh's representatives - as he is now free to talk terms with any interested clubs.

Inter Milan, Juventus and Sevilla have also been in touch, but Chamakh has now confirmed that he wants to move to the Emirates.

"My future? Well, I hold all the cards, I have no reason to be under pressure but everyday passing by, I am a little less a Bordeaux player," he revealed.

"My choice is to join Premier League and if I could choose, I will go to Arsenal.

"Bordeaux has brought me so much. I will soon clearly state things so the club can prepare to find my replacement peacefully."

Camakh is full of praise for Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc.

"Laurent Blanc has brought us a winning state of mind, he has taught us how to hate defeat," he told L'Equipe.

"Both on mental and physical levels, I am at my best. Three years ago, I was still a little crazy. Now I can manage my efforts, which allows me to be more clear-sighted at the end of the match.

"I have improved, but I can still improve. I am not only happy to play anymore. I have become someone who wants to win. I am more a scorer, but not enough yet. There are too many situations where I still do a pass for a player in a better position."

I always thought this was the reason Wenger never bought a striker in jan, guess he thought we would have to many if he joins the club. Maybe he will sell Eddy though ?

Chamakh is going to be a great player, he just needs to step up when it comes to actually scoring goals. Ideal front man for Arsenal and the way they play, don't be so negative.

I have to agree with you. I can be one of those that are occasionally slightly negative  I don't think you can ever judge a player wholly without seeing them after they have settled in. For instance, who knew that Henry or Ronaldo were going to become the players they did. If we had youtube back in the days when we signed Henry we would have all thought he was shite.
If the guy is going to come to us for nothing then lets give him a chance. He just might be the player we need.

I'm glad Chamakh wants to join Arsenal, but does he have to sing like a fucking canary to the media?? :? Those Bordeaux fans must be well impressed

If you ask me, footballers should be seen but not heard.... oh, and agents should be shot!

Watched him play in Ligue 1 and he's a quality player that's for sure. Can hold the ball up, is BRILLIANT in the air both from set pieces and route 1 balls, works as hard as the Kuyt's and Tevez's of this world and in addition he's actually very gifted technically! Downside is that he's not a great finisher but he offers so much more he makes up for that. Would love him here, definitely and it makes me feel comfortable that we're his first choice.

Arsene has signed unknown players before such as Anelka. Also Henry and Bergkamp were not greats before they joined.
My point being we can't judge Chamack before he dons the famous red shirt.

not entirely true that is it. Bergkamp was a well known international star player when we signed him

Never seen the guy, but the last thing we need is yet another gifted, technical, quality striker who is NOT a great finisher.

But he's gonna cost us fcuk all so it's great, 3rd place guaranteed next season. :x

Well Shava and Eduardo are great finishers so it's not that much of a problem. He can defend from the front and we have no one in the squad who can do that, not to mention that he works his bollocks off which should help create space for the other players.
