‘Wonder Of You’ replacement suggestions

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't think we should have an anthem. In fact, I get fucked off at Arsenal because they play loads of adverts really loud before the game and the atmosphere even get a chance to take hold.

By the time you can hear yourself think, the match is about to start.

Turn the adverts and music off, let the atmosphere build up pre-kick off. If you're going to play songs, play classic Arsenal songs.

Why do we need music blaring out to get the fans going?
I find that playing loud music in the lead up to kick off kills the atmosphere. I've been to a few games abroad and the fans get in the ground early and create the atmosphere by singing. At Wigan awayaway our support was just getting drowned out by the volume of the PA's choice of music, and you could barely hear what was being sung, it deadened the atmosphere considerably. Instead of arguing about what song to adopt as our anthem, maybe we should just put down our pints early, get to the ground and do the job ourselves. It's amazing what a group of football supporters can come up with when left to their own devices.
