The other Bordeaux player who was linked with us was Yoann Gourcuff.

Arsène Wenger has dismissed speculation suggesting that Thomas Sorensen was close to joining Arsenal on transfer deadline day.
The manager recently told Arsenal TV Online that he had worked hard last Monday to try and secure a last-minute signing, however he refused to name the player he was chasing.
Over the weekend reports in the national press suggested that the man in question was Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.
At his pre-Liverpool press conference on Tuesday the manager was asked if the reports were true, and Wenger was unequivocal in his answer.

"No. No," replied the Frenchman.

Those who keep bleating on about how much we need a scary striker; aren't Arshavin and RvP 'scary' enough for you? They would frighten the shit out of any defence! Our problem isn't the strikers, it's the defenders and SHITE GOALKEEPER!!

Arshavin aint a striker though and its debatable as to wether Van Persie is an out and out striker, although without him you can see just how shit we are. Our strike force was never going to be good enough at the start of the season if Van Persie got fucked as he is, Bendtner is shit, Eduardo is not the same player and in my opioion wont make it, Vela is shit

Neither is Ronaldo an out and out striker but are you telling me he doesn't put the shits up defenders?

Cant compare Ronaldo to either Van Persie or Arshavin, completely different type of player

I honestly believe that AW now knows he blew it by not signing Shay Given and a Striker (Chamahk?) in the summer.....

He will sign at least 3 players this summer....a goalie - thank the gods, a muncher for the mid-field and a striker

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

AW may have not known before but he does NOW!

In what way are they different? They're all forwards which means they're comparable.

Anyway, back on topic - Chamakh has signed a pre-contract with us.

We need a CF for Arshavin and the rest to play off. That man could be RVP, but he is too prone to injury. After we got the CF, its must be a GK.

never seen the kid play, so i can't rate him... but he would be a welcome addition. he might have helped our club significantly this season, considering how Eduardo is now a mediocre player, Vela never materialized into anything but a "Segunda" striker and Bendtner... well, i wont say anything about our "Danish Player of the Year."

i am just concerned as to how much Chamakh "cries" out in the media.

i'll agree with most that our number 1 priority should be a PROPER goalkeeper... i don't necessarily want a Buffon-type keeper, just one that doesn't play like a total buffoon.

how good is Chamakh's goalscoring record?
I hope it's amazing as we need an out and out goalscorer.
