REDaction Mailout

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

REDaction Mailout

Post by 12thGooner »

I'm not at the sunderland game so i'll make my opinon known on here as i know REDaction check here from time to time.

and for those that don't get the mailout here it is below.
REDaction are now six years old and are always on the look out for new members and new ideas. Some of our ideas don't work, and some of them do, but we need more ideas and feedback from Arsenal fans everywhere. For this reason, we will be in the Rocket from 1pm this Saturday to collect new ideas, and feedback on any existing REDaction activities. Come and see us just inside the main door and let us know what you think, good or bad; we are happy to take constructive criticism and new ideas for the benefit of all Gooners. Current ideas we are looking for include:
- Simple ideas for the wording of a complimentary 'Vieira' banner ahead of the Man City game on 24th April
- Suggestions for a 'final whistle' tune to be played over the PA at Emirates directly after the final whistle (of a home win only). There are a few clubs who do this, and anyone who stuck around long enough to hear 'One Step Beyond' at the Bridge the other week, would have been grudgingly impressed. Or if you think that's a bad idea, please let us know too.
- Any other new ideas regarding banners / The Rocket / general atmosphere. We have recently seen many online comments about the use of the TV screens in the Rocket and general atmosphere, so come and talk to us.

If you are around on Saturday, please stop by and let us know what you think.

Victory Through Harmony

REDaction
In my opinion a banner for vierra is not a great idea, yes he is a legend of a player and did insanely great stuff for us, but he's moved on. Standing ovations and accolade from the crowd are great but a banner is disrespectful to our current team. The last any of our team should see is a banner for a player on the opposing team.

If cash is gonna be spent and permission from the club sought for this kind of activity it should have Arsenal written all over it, not for a former player.

Agreed!

Can we concentrate on our current players rather than past ones no matter how great they are.

As accolades to our current players go I can only think of the ill-advised sombrero day for Vela which has hardly been seen as a success.

By all means quick burst of Paddy' song and a clap but a banner?

I do wonder what planet Redaction are on at times if this is the proposal they highlight most in their newsletter.

A final whistle song? Lordy... we'll be playing some crap techno like 2Unlimited after every goal now. Or even worse, Chelsea Dagger....... nooooooo

The final whistle song when we win should just be the crowd cheering with no fucking music drowning it out. I'm pretty sure that's what happened at the end of the Liverpool game, followed by a bit of 1 - 0 to the Arsenal.

I sent an emai lto redaction against the banner and the song idea.

I remember us taking the piss out of boro in the 90's with their "another one bites the dust" tune after goals scored. It inspired a Glen Helder goal!

Don't we already have a song that's played at full-time? :? :? I seem to remember hearing 'Move On Up' at the final whistle of most Home games. :?

I heard 'One step beyond' after the Pool game and thought it was a really poor choice and twisted the knife. I'd only heard this 4 days prior after we lost to the Chavs. They sing it after they beat us as it's there 'winning' song.
What next 'Never walk alone'?!

Would be ironic given that if you hear that song, you probably will be walking out of the stadium alone

Can we just simply have '1 nil to the Arsenal'? I'm sure the club have an instrumental or Arsenal version (away boyz) as opposed to the Pet shop boys.
It's a Arsenal song and fits to nearly all winning score lines.

They used to play stuff like that over the tannoy at highbury. I remember they had an operatic "Jose Antonio" they used to play whenever he had a good game (I heard it once  )

You gotta admit RedAction try to improve things but who the fuck cares about having a bloody song at the end of the game?! And PV4 will get a warm reception, no need for a banner!
There are more important issues with modern football and all that still they prioritize pointless things!!

Ps: I'm not having a go at RedAction, credit where it's due but they should set other goals!!!

they'd be better making a banner declaring absolute love for william gallas as a show of wanting him to stay...

but does that go against the wishes of the club...?

i think the events around Pires' return are clouding judgement here.

Vierra plays for a positional rival and during the game or at any point within the stadium he is no former player for Arsenal, its just the way you have to look at it.
