NOW YOU LEAVE BIG ADE OUT OF THIS DEBATE, TONY!! :x :x

I AGREE THAT THE FLAMINAL DESERVES TO KEEP HIS PLACE DUE TO THE FINE PERFORMANCES HE HAS THUS FAR DISPLAYED. ALTHOUGH PERSONALLY I WOULD HAVE DIARRA IN THERE, WHAT DOES IT SAY IF YOU DON'T KEEP YOUR POSITION IN THE TEAM DISPITE GOOD PERFORMANCES LIKE THOSE PUT IN BY MATTY?

Gilberto slows the game down compared to Flamini and he is not as good a passer as Flamini. Is that a good enough reason.I think having Flamini in the team has help Fabregas,it give Cesc the freedom to get forward

imo we missed him more than any1 v slavia
against inferior opposition u have 2push up the tempo
gilberto's stronger v the strongest opposition
we held posession v manure but could not dict8 play

still think diarra will b 1st team soon - hes quality and could be better than either

Cesc/Diarra could be as gr8 an axis as petit/viera

I think we look so much better when Gilberto is in the side. I think Flamini has been superb this season, but you must pick your best players and, for me, that means playing Gilberto.

Having said that, I'm advocating Lehmann not playing beacuse of his outbursts so I must be a hypocrite. Ouch.

I'm with rebel on this: Flamini has out-done everyone's expectations this year, much respect to him for that, but I think his form is now dipping and we've probably had the best from him for a while. Given the strength we have in his position, I think Flamini should be taken out of the firing line and his place given to one of Gilberto or Diarra.

The stick that Flamini is getting is unwarrented.

Firstly the we're playing well at the moment with him in the side, and to change the winning formula would be madness.

Secondly, he injects a lot more pace and tempo into the midfield. Look at the goal he scored last night. He started the move, through winning possesion high up the pitch and allowing our quick, precise passing to exploit the space.

I still think Bert will have an important influence this season, however his game is less about tackling and industry and more about closing down the space and intercepting passes. If, for example we were playing a side with a creative player behind the strikers (e.g. Kaka & Milan) then that would be a job for Bert to marshall the space in front of our defenders and to pick up the dangerman.

Finally, Flamini was given the chance at the start of the season and he grabbed it with both hands, and as yet has given no reason why he shouldn't be in the starting line-up. That level of hunger, desire and motivation is evident on the pitch, he's not only fighting to win the match but to keep his place. If it starts to wane then by all means we should think about other options. But until then; if it aint broke...

Agree Jaun

Arsenal are a more attacking side with Flamini in the side,Its amazing how the fans our backing GIlberto after all the stick he was given in his first four years at the club. And now we have Diarra what future does Gilberto have at the club? A January exit me thinks

flamini is having his best ever spell at the club and that i couldnt argue,, but long term i cant see him been the answer,, its the holding midfield role and i still feel bert or diarra are better suited to the role..

but only if they are to improve the team which is doing well at the mo and still unbeaten so would be silly to change for sake of change

Flamini is having a great season but i still feel he wasnt up to the task agianst the mancs or the scousers.I never was a big Gilberto fan to be honest up on till last season whch he had the best season in arsenal colours. And why buy Diarra if he is not going play him often. :?

Flamini must be one of the first names on the team sheet this season.
He's such a class player, and i'd be shocked and disappointed if he was dropped!!
