AWAY TO PORTO THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I thought Sol was great tonight. WTF was he like at Notts County did anyone se him up there? If he can play that well in the CL he have looked like Adams in his prime.

Fabianski - do the honourable thing and quit - you're shit.

I agree, even though we were very poor, we should have been 2-1 up with the penalty (about the 30th we've had turned down post-Eduardo)

All that has been said before, I mainly agree with, but Porto were also dire at the back, and there's goals to be scored in the 2nd leg against them, I'm convinced.

What you basing that on frank ? :? I mean that long streak of shite up front wouldnt trouble a pub team's defence
Mainly on how we were cutting through them (when we could be arsed to) in the first half, at 1-1, I thought we could have gone on to win it mate, with hardly any pressure on the Porto back 4 they were creaking.

But let's face it, Augie, if we get through to the next round, we're not going to any further after that. :?

Really? Can you honestly see us keeping a clean sheet?

it took till the 92nd minute for eboue (who should of been on long before the 89th minute ) to produce an attacking spark .

FABIANKSKI
SAGNA
vermaelen
clichy
denilson
FABREGAS

all really bad
Not sure I'd put the Verminator in that list, especially when you've left out Nasri and Walcott, even for 20 minutes, he still looks like he's not good enough to wear an Arsenal shirt.
nasri was good in the 1st half but like everyone seemed to dissapear in the 2nd .....walcott should be on the list granted ....i just thought TV wasnt very commanding today lost a few headers got turned easily but to be fair our midfield as a defensive unit was pathetic

We could be on here all night slagging off various players but really what is the point ? Wenger hand picked these guys, talked them up big time, gave them huge pay rises, gave them fcuk all coaching and now we are "reaping the rewards" of his policies
What about Flappy augie ? Surely now time to admit that he's even worse (amazing though it sounds) than your favourite Spanish mate ?

Page 12 (I think) steve o I absolutely held my hands up big time and admitted my mistake on our keeping situation whilest also paying homage to the man (wenger) who is responsible for this fiasco
Cheers mate - they are both well and truly fucking hopeless anyway. It's just that Flappy somehow managers to upstage the waiter in the battle of the Goons !!

Nail on the head here, this is why we failed to win that game, other way round we would have scored 4 or 5.. frustrating but its really game on.

We have more than enough to deal with them at the Emirates

It shouldn't be 'game on' against the likes of Porto, it should be 'game over'

I hope we don't so we can stop with the pretence that this team is any thing but average.

We are going to lose even the half decent ones. Fabregas had a shite game but why should he always carry the can. There are 11 players on that team and how many of us would be bothered if he buggers off to Barcelona.

Play with Bendtner,Walcott,Denilson or Messi,Iniesta,Xavi.

Said it before and will say it again, if we don't buy and sell smoe shite big time in the summer...he will walk. If he doesn't then he's a bottler, NOT loyal like some would delude themselves because only a loser stays where he's surrounded by complete an utter shite

As a fan results dont usually embarrass me (unless accompanied by a half hearted team effort) but right now I am ashamed at what level wenger and the board have allowed our standards to drop to  We are so so fcuking bad in the goalkeeping situation that fans are now calling for chesney hawkes (fcuked if I can spell his name  ) to be recalled from brentford to be our number 1 - he has never played in the premier league but is now meant to be our saviour

We have a midfielder (ramsey) with real potential (as opposed to the imagined potential that wenger bullshits on about so many of our players having  ) and they guy cannot get a start and then has to watch shite like diaby, denilson and nasri balls up time and time again and he still doesnt get brought on

Wenger's decision are a fcuking joke  :banghead:

Of course it should - just like Man Utd's game with Milan is and as Chelsea's will be when they dismantle Inter with obvious ease.

Remember our road to last season's semi saw us wobble past the mighty Roma (they who scraped into the top eight in Italy) before despatching the mighty Villareal.

First decent oppo that comes up and we're out. I take us to win the return 4-2 with more comic book defending. We must then pray for Fiorentina or Olympiakos before the inevitable humbling occurs

Have to agree about Ramsey. I am just astonished Wenger won't play him but persists with Denielson time and time again. It's just BAFFLING.......... :banghead:
